Burton Albion secured their first win of the League One season at the 14th attempt with victory over fellow strugglers Shrewsbury Town.
In a meeting of two managerless clubs, Tomas Kalinauskas and Danilo Orsi got the goals to help Albion go above Shrewsbury at the foot of the table.
After the returning Billy Bodin had volleyed an effort just wide of the post, Burton (with interim head coach Tom Hounsell in charge) were rewarded for their bright start when Kalinauskas scored for the second Saturday in a row.
Former Wolves youngster Elliot Watt curled in a deep cross and, on the back of his FA Cup winner against Scarborough, the Lithuanian showed a good touch to steer the ball in at the far post for his first EFL goal.
Orsi had a chance to double the lead just before the break with a glancing header but made no mistake six minutes after half-time with a quality finish from the edge of the box, capitalising on another quality Watt pass.
Shrewsbury, with coach Sean Parrish in charge following the sacking of Paul Hurst, rarely threatened as Burton made it consecutive clean sheets to secure a much-needed three points.
