This is the first ever meeting between Blackburn Rovers and Wrexham in the FA Cup and first in any competition since a 1-0 win for the Welsh side in a league match in March 1982.
Blackburn have progressed from each of their last four FA Cup ties against Welsh opposition, most recently in a 2-1 win over Newport in January 2016. The last Welsh team to knock them out were Swansea back in January 1955.
Blackburn Rovers have progressed from their last five FA Cup fourth round ties, including last season after a replay against Birmingham. The last side from a lower division to eliminate them at this stage was Charlton Athletic in 1993-94.
Wrexham are featuring in the FA Cup fourth round in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1998-99/1999-00. The Red Dragons haven’t won a fourth round tie since a 4-2 away win at Peterborough United in 1996-97.
Wrexham forward Sam Dalby has been involved in 11 goals in his last nine appearances in the FA Cup proper (first round onwards), scoring four goals and assisting seven more. He’s either scored (2) or assisted (2) four of their six goals in this season’s competition.
