OK, the cameras are now off.

As is always the way in these sessions, we are given a brief glimpse of the start of today's training before onlooking journalists are ushered away from view.

Thomas Tuchel and his staff will now get down to the urgent business of preparing the players for the challenges ahead - Andorra at Villa Park on Saturday before Tuesday's key trip to Serbia.

  3. Burn looks an imposing playerpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 3 September

England v Andorra (Sat, 17:00 BST)

    England

Dan Burn looks confident and in control as he practises some volleys with one of England's coaches. He looks a very tall, dominating figure in this England side.

Marcus Rashford seems to be concentrating hard as the drills continue. He will be another one not used to this weather given his move to Barcelona earlier this summer. Perhaps that explains his gloves.

Former West Ham team-mates Jarrod Bowen and Declan Rice deep in conversation as they step on to the England training pitches at St George's Park.

They went on to share a joke as the team lined up for some drill work.

Bowen hasn't had much to smile about recently given the Hammers start to the season - perhaps their 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday has lifted his spirits.

  8. A sodden St George's Parkpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 3 September

England v Andorra (Sat, 17:00 BST)

    England

Let's hope the horrendous rain at St George's Park does not reflect what England's performance will be like when they play Andorra on Saturday. Summer's definitely over eh?

Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be getting a shock to the system returning to this after the glorious weather he has been used to whilst playing in Italy.

The players and coaches are heading out - waterproofs in tow - although it looks like that sudden downpour has now stopped, with a slick surface perfect for today's training session.

  9. England's World Cup qualifying campaignpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 3 September

    England

England will be hoping to boost their goal difference against Andorra at home after missing out on the opportunity in the away fixture in June.

    • 24 Mar - England 3-0 Latvia
    • 21 Mar - England 2-0 Albania
    • 07 Jun - Andorra 0-1 England

  10. Seven wins and no goals conceded - head-to-headpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 3 September

England v Andorra (Sat, 17:00 BST)

England will no doubt be practising today how to breach a low block as they prepare to face Andorra on Saturday.

The Three Lions have won all of their previous seven encounters, scoring 26 goals in the process, and are yet to concede a goal.

Their biggest win against Andorra came under Fabio Capello in June, 2009, in a one-sided qualifier en route to the 2010 World Cup.

Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe both scored twice, while Frank Lampard and Peter Crouch were also on target in a 6-0 victory at Wembley.

  11. Can Andorra provide stubborn opposition...again?published at 15:32 British Summer Time 3 September

England v Andorra (Sat, 17:00 BST)

England's latest round of World Cup qualifiers kick off against Group K's bottom side Andorra at Villa Park on Saturday.

The minnows have failed to pick up a point from their opening four games in the group, but proved a tough nut for England to crack in the reverse fixture in June, which was played in Barcelona.

It took Thomas Tuchel's side until the 50th minute to open the scoring, Harry Kane tapping in Noni Madueke's centre to spare their blushes and maintain a 100% start from their three games.

England top the group and will be hoping to find their range on home soil against a side ranked 174th - 170 places below England - in Fifa's latest world rankings.

England top World Cup qualifying group K on 9 points, with Andorra bottom on 0 points

We heard from Ruben Loftus-Cheek earlier.

Well the AC Milan midfielder is about to join fellow call-up Jarell Quansah and the rest of the group in this afternoon's open training session at St George's Park.

  14. How does World Cup qualifying work?published at 15:20 British Summer Time 3 September

A total of 16 teams will qualify from the European section of World Cup qualifying.

The 12 group winners will automatically go through to the 2026 finals in North America, while four teams will progress via the play-offs.

All 12 group runners-up will qualify for those play-offs, along with the four best-ranked group winners from the most recent Uefa Nations League tournament.

England and Wales both topped their groups in the second tier of the Nations League, while Northern Ireland won group C3, so all three nations could also qualify for the play-offs via that route.

Northern Ireland, meanwhile, warmed up for the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign with two promising performances in June against Scandinavian opposition - a 2-1 defeat in Denmark and 1-0 win at home to Iceland.

Michael O'Neill's side will take confidence from those results as they open up at Group A minnows Luxembourg on Thursday knowing tougher tests are to follow.

Favourites Germany are next up in Cologne on Sunday, but it will be the two matches against Slovakia - ranked 19 places above Northern Ireland in the world rankings - that will surely decide whether they can reach a first World Cup finals since 1986.

    This month's fixtures:

    • 4 September - Luxembourg (A)

Craig Bellamy's side know that victory at the Astana Arena is key, if they are to keep the pressure on their Group J rivals.

Bournemouth's Ryan Christie says it would be "pretty special" to help Scotland qualify for a first World Cup finals since 1998.

"It would be a massive achievement for everyone who's been involved in this journey so far," said the 30-year-old attacker, who has helped Scotland qualify for successive European Championship finals.

"It's six massive games, six cup finals if you will. I think we go into it in a good place because we know how much we want it.

"We've got the experience of the Euros and the last qualifiers. We know what's needed.

"All the boys that have qualified before, I think this is the one thing that's missing for so many of us. We're desperate to do it along with the gaffer."
