Craig Bellamy on calling up Isaak Davies and Rubin Colwill to his squad to replace Aaron Ramsey and Leeds United winger Dan James, who withdrew last week: "It is always disappointing when you don't have players you have called up but it is not uncommon. It always does change. That's OK and we adapt.

"It was nice to bring someone in like Isaak in because he brings the same kind of intensity. A player I really know and like. It is great to have a look at him. Rubin has been doing well and was always in my thoughts. Two very good replacements."

Craig Bellamy's former Wales and Norwich City team-mate Iwan Roberts is among those to offer some insight into the 47-year-old's mindset and career ahead of tomorrow's game at Wembley.

"He (Bellamy) was confident. Some of the lads thought he was cocky, arrogant and they didn't understand why at such a young age," said Roberts.

"But I don't think it was cockiness. I just think he was ultra confident in his ability and rightly so."

Wales boss Craig Bellamy: "I don't believe England struggle with teams that defend deep. Do Serbia defend deep? I believe if you play this England team and defend deep you will die a slow death."

On Sir Bobby Robson, the ex-England manager who was his boss at Newcastle: "When you are young and you believe the presence of someone like Sir Bobby will always be there. But when he isn't and you get older and smarter, you wish, why 'didn't I ask more questions'.

"I took it for granted. It annoys me. Some of the questions I asked were like gold dust. The most important part of him was how he made me feel before I played. He made me believe I was the best player going. They are moments I want our players or any player involved with me to feel that confidence, of feeling you are the best player in the world in that position - that feeling, never underestimate it.

"I can go back to what he did. With Jeremy Doku at Anderlecht there was a certain moment and I handled it the way I learned. He has always been there and always will be. I am really grateful. Like all young people who think they know everything and know literally nothing, I wish I had spent more time with him and asked him more. Foolish eh."

Wales boss Craig Bellamy on being different as a manager to how he was perceived in the media as a player. He says: "It's just an enjoyable part of my life. It's been amazing. Every part of it has been so fulfilling and I hope it continues. I don't try to look too far ahead.

"There is nothing guaranteed. I wanted to come back. That love of football has never left me."

Wales captain Ben Davies on the fact between 6,000 and 7,000 Wales supporters will be at Wembley tomorrow: "Wales away always seem to be there for us. Kazakhstan was incredible so I'm not really surprised they sold out their allocation and I can't wait to see them tomorrow.

"There's a lot of opponents that I've played football with and against so it's exciting. Wembley is a special place in English football and for me personally as we played a lot of games here for Spurs a few years ago."

Asked how much it will help in their bid for World Cup qualification, Davies says: "It's a big help as we play against Belgium in our crunch game on Monday and playing a team like England, they are on a par with them.

"It's about testing ourselves against this level of opponent and hopefully be as prepared as we can be for the qualifier."

Craig Bellamy is as ever talking the journalists' ears off. He's currently taking a question from BBC Radio 5 Live, who are asking him about Bobby Robson. It's captivating stuff.

However, Bellamy has just been warned by Ian Gwyn Hughes that there is a team meeting at 18:15 BST.

Wales boss Craig Bellamy: "Everyone gets caught up in this [Tuchel being German]. What's the most important thing for England to do? I don't believe it matters. Get the best person.

"If the most incredible coach and he happens to be from your country that's a win-win. I always believe it should be the best person, it does not matter where they are from. Just get the best person who will help you get the moment you want.

"England have a top manager, who has won the Champions League. You have an incredible squad. It is getting them into the right system. If you look at Spain, did they have all their best players? No, they went in a different direction that fitted the way the manager wanted to play.

"I'm expected to qualify. Rightly so. You want that expectation, you don't hide away from it. You don't have a right to win it. You have a right to expect to win. We always talk of pressure as a privilege. With an experienced manager like you have now it is normal.

"Serbia, you go to Belgrade and win 5-0 in a hostile atmosphere, it is a nice benchmark. We are not Serbia. I don't think you put unnecessary pressure on. We demand it. It makes you feel alive. If it helps you progress even quicker go with it."

More from captain Ben Davies, on the chance to be part of the first Wales side to win at Wembley since 1977: "It's definitely in the back of our minds. Every game against England will be competitive and there's a big sense of pride in these games.

"We're really looking forward to it. We want to come here and win even though it's a friendly. It's a good opportunity to test ourselves and show what we can do but there's that competitive edge to it as well."

Craig Bellamy just had a nice exchange with Mirror journalist John Cross when he asked the Wales boss what he thought about England having a German in charge of their national team.

How heartbroken would you be if a German won you the World Cup?" Bellamy asked Cross. "It's about who is the best person for the job".

Bellamy seemed genuinely bemused by any focus on England manager boss Thomas Tuchel's nationality.

"You have a top manager," he added.

Wales boss Craig Bellamy speaking about Harry Kane: "We have players who have played with him [Harry Kane]. I know a lot about him. I think he is the most complete player I have seen at this present moment.

"I don't know if he is injured or fit, we will wait and see tomorrow. Listen, a country like England, with the quality they have we expect that."

Asked how do you see your team playing, Wales boss Craig Bellamy says: "To me, I want to press high. I don't want to defend deep but of course at times in game you have to adapt.

"When we have the ball are we able to create scenarios to have efforts on goal? In build-up how quick can we get to your goal? If we can get there in one, or four or 35 passes, we will do what we have to do.

"I have felt the players took it straight away. Anyone who watches us will see what we try to do. How can we create scenarios to let them be the best they can be."

Wales boss Craig Bellamy: "It's been really enjoyable. But the Canada game led to that as well. Similar pressing techniques, similar with the ball so we can take a lot from that to this game. These friendly games have been really beneficial.

"One or two are carrying niggles. We are here tomorrow to come and play our brand of football in difficult circumstances in an incredible place like Wembley. It is excitement. We are not here as tourists to enjoy the occasion. We are here to be the best version of ourselves."

England beat Wales 2-1 in the 2016 World Cup, with Ben Davies admitting that he still thought about that result, with England scoring a late winner.

He said: "It still hurts, a last-minute goal to concede. In that one we played a game just trying to keep it tight, but that was a tough one to take.

"The other two [recent matches with England], they were disappointing results for us and we knew we're playing top opposition but we felt we could've done a lot better. They are games that stay in the memory.

"England are a really good team. There are definitely plenty of other teams I would rather be playing than England but on the other hand it's a real test for us. It's a good group here and we're excited for the challenge and we have to put in good performances against teams like this."

I've just been speaking to Ben Davies and he is so comfortable dealing with the media, he is extremely relaxed and just bats away question after question, seemingly not daunted at all that Wales are about to face England at Wembley.

Davies will win his 99th cap for his country at Wembley and will lead out the side in the absence of captain Aaron Ramsey.

Wales captain Ben Davies is asked whether he feels the Welsh players have a point to prove after losing 3-0 to England at the Qatar World Cup in 2022.

He says: "I don't think that's our motivation going into this game.

"For that game we were not at our best and I felt disappointed walking off the pitch, not just because of the result, but we didn't show what we were about and why we had got into the tournament.

"I hope tomorrow night we give a better account of ourselves. We have prepared well and there's a real confidence we can put up a better showing."

Ben Davies is asked about a potential absence for England of captain Harry Kane, who didn't train fully today.

Davies and Kane were team-mates at Tottenham and the Welsh defender says: "Harry is an incredible player and we probably won't miss him if he does not play.

"But England are full of talent and they have an incredible squad to pick from so whoever comes it, it's going to be a test for us."
