Casemiro and Ugarte start for me. Casemiro's experience has been crucial in Europe and Mainoo doesn't look near his best, and I prefer Fernandes as a 10 rather than in the double pivot.

  4. Transfer Q&A: Who could come in if Man Utd replace Onana?published at 15:55 British Summer Time

BBC Sport chief football news reporter Simon Stone answered questions on the upcoming transfer window yesterday.

Sharkyward: I believe Manchester United will need to replace Andre Onana this summer, but who would Ruben Amorim consider to be a good replacement to play his system?

Simon: I really think they hope not to be bringing in another experienced goalkeeper. Tom Heaton will leave when his contract expires in the summer and it is virtually certain Altay Bayindir will go as well. United do have some good young goalkeepers in Elyh Harrison and Hubert Graczyk but Antwerp's Senne Lammens is a name I hear quite often, so I wouldn't be surprised if United go for him.

However, at 22, with no experience of European competitions and no senior caps, it feels too much of a leap to bring him in as a first choice. However, Lammens has a lot of promise, so if he came in, Amorim could gauge for himself whether the Belgian was good enough.

Andre Onana and Matthijs de Ligt have the experience of playing in the Europa League final after being on the losing side in 2017 against their current employers Manchester United.

The duo were part of the Ajax side that reached the showpiece event in 2017 and lost 2-0.

De Ligt was only 17 at the time, while Onana was 21.

With more experience now under the belt, will they win it this time?

We asked you to tell us how you are getting to Bilbao for the Europa League final against Tottenham.

Here are some of your travel plans:

Paul: As a Manchester United fan in my 50s, I thought my Interrail days were long behind me… but here I am, reliving my youth by backpacking across Europe with two of my sons to get to the Europa League final in Bilbao. We're squeezing onto trains from Manchester to London, then Paris, then all the way to the Spanish border, with a taxi dash and a hire car thrown in for good measure. We'll catch the match, sleep in said hire car like true budget adventurers, then do it all in reverse.

Rob: Five regular United fans from Manchester, Oxford and Kings Lynn are getting a motorhome and driving to Bilbao. Meeting the people along the way like some Man Utd mega bus, a stupidly early Dover crossing reminiscent of the Italian Job, French motorways, rest stops, refuelling and campsites with a day in Bilbao and then coming back the next day. Going to be four days of mayhem and memories - never letting the football get in the way of a good day at the football.

Paul: Going by coach from Old Trafford via Dover/Calais. Setting off midday Tuesday expected arrival by 15:00 Wednesday, return straight after the match.

I don't think the men's team deserves any awards, but I'd imagine they're essential for the other teams. Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe got involved, the men's senior team seems to be the only one that matters — yet he's supposed to be good at extracting those missing small percentages.

Former Tottenham midfielder Michael Brown said he "would not play Hojlund" in the Europa League final next week.

Speaking to the Football News Show, Brown aired concerns over Rasmus Hojlund's goalscoring record this season.

Brown said: "We have to understand that Rasmus Hojlund is still young, and he's still learning.

"Playing in a side that has been very inconsistent, but he has got to get better. He's just not doing enough."

Earlier this season Hojlund endured a 22-game goal drought, which he finally broke against Leicester in a 3-0 victory.

The 22-year-old has featured in all 14 of Manchester United's Europa League games - the centre-forward has scored six goals and picked up two assists.

Although the Dane has a better goalscoring record in the Europa League, Brown said, "When it comes to the final - I would not play him."

I can appreciate Man City and Liverpool fans giving us stick, but to see fans of teams who've never won a major trophy before is laughable. You'd do anything to have half of the success we've had in the last two or three years. Most of you can only dream of being in a European final of any kind.

  11. Transfer Q&A: Youth or experience?published at 15:20 British Summer Time

BBC Sport chief football news reporter Simon Stone answered questions on the upcoming transfer window yesterday.

Justin: I've been hearing discussions about Manchester United's interest in Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen. Given our recent challenges in front of goal, particularly with younger strikers, would it not be more strategic to pursue a proven talent?

Simon: The issue is who? Osimhen will cost a lot. Delap not nearly as much because he has a release clause.

If you try a player for £30m and it doesn't work out, the damage is not as great as if you spend £70m, which is why the spotlight is shining so fiercely on Rasmus Hojlund. United are not on their own in being interested in Delap.

They are also keen on Wolves' Matheus Cunha, who is not an orthodox number nine but has proved himself to be a goal threat in the Premier League. In the situation they are in, I think "local knowledge" will minimise the risk.

  12. Gossip: Delap, Schick or Semenyo - Man Utd seek attacking reinforcementspublished at 15:15 British Summer Time

In today's gossip column, Sky Sports have reported that Manchester United are leading the race to sign Ipswich striker Liam Delap.

Although Ipswich have already been relegated, the 22-year-old Manchester City academy graduate has scored 12 goals in the Premier League this season.

Talksport claim that United have also held talks with Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo, 25, over a possible move from Bournemouth.

And Caught Offside have linked Bayer Leverkusen's Czech Republic striker Patrik Schick, 29, with a move to Old Trafford.

It seems signing a new forward is the top priority this summer for boss Ruben Amorim, who will be more likely to secure his top targets if United win the Europa League final to qualify for next season's Champions League.

I'm not sure why they are not going to have an awards ceremony? Sure, the men's team can sit at the back and not receive anything but, the youth and women's squads still deserve to be recognised for their achievements!

    Mike

I can understand the club not wanting an awards dinner for the men's team, but why penalise the women's or youth teams - have the awards ceremony but without the woeful men's team.

    Alan

The women's team and academy should have awards, they deserve them. The men's senior side deserve nothing.

  14. What he said - Amorim after home defeat by Hammerspublished at 15:05 British Summer Time

Tottenham v Man Utd (Wed, 21 May - 20:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Ruben Amorim after defeat by West Ham: "We are losing the feeling that we are a massive club and it's the end of the world to lose a game at home.

"If we are not scared of losing a game as Manchester United and don't have that fear anymore, it is the most dangerous thing a big club can have."

"Everybody here has to think seriously about a lot of things," he added. "Everybody is thinking about the [Europa League] final. The final is not the issue. We have bigger things to think about.

"I'm talking about myself and the culture in the club and the culture in the team. We need to change that.

"It's a decisive moment in the history of the club.

"We need to be really strong in the summer and to be brave because we will not have a next season like this. If we start like this, if the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different people."

Tottenham v Man Utd (Wed, 21 May - 20:00 BST)

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim will also be speaking to the media from about 16:30 BST.

Any team news could well be out of date by next week, as United play their penultimate Premier League game of the season at Chelsea on Friday (20:15 BST).

But Amorim should also be asked about his comments following Sunday's 2-0 home defeat by West Ham, when he admitted that he may have to leave the club if the team's poor league form continues at the start of next season.

Harry Maguire and Mason Mount have been two unexpected heroes during Manchester United's Europa League final run this season and they will be on media duties this afternoon.

Maguire's most memorable moment came against Lyon as United staged a thrilling comeback with the centre-back scoring the winning goal deep into extra-time, which saw them progress to the semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.

Mount has returned to action after being sidelined for three months due to a leg injury. Since his return, the midfielder has scored three goals in his past three appearances, including a double in the second leg against Bilbao.

  17. There's 'constant negativity' from Amorim - Murphypublished at 14:51 British Summer Time

    MOTD2

With Manchester United collecting 24 points from 25 Premier League games under Ruben Amorim, dropping to 16th and a win record of 24%, avoiding 'negativity' is probably hard for the Portuguese head coach.

Sure, Amorim has admitted there is a lot of work to do at Old Trafford but ex-Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy has accused him of "constant negativity".

Speaking on Match of the Day 2 after United's 2-0 home defeat by West Ham on Sunday, Murphy said: "I'd like to hear a bit more solution-based answers, a bit more positivity and thinking forward.

"I always felt that if the leader of a club is putting on a nice positive front and trying to be forthright and look forward, then it helped the players, rather than constant negativity."

The worst United team in history doesn't deserve an award, let alone an awards dinner. The Europa League final can't paper over the gaping chasm at Old Trafford. Holding a celebration after the embarrassment of this season would be out of touch and tone deaf.

  19. 'An absolute catastrophe for the losing manager'published at 14:41 British Summer Time

Tottenham v Man Utd (Wed, 21 May - 20:00 BST)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

In a week's time Manchester United will meet Tottenham Hotspur at the San Mames Stadium in the Europa League final with the stakes extremely high for both sides.

Ex-Premier League striker Chris Sutton says that it is "going to be an absolute catastrophe for the losing manager".

The Red Devils are yet to beat Spurs this season having lost twice in the Premier League and once in the League Cup.

Sutton added: "Tottenham don't have momentum, Manchester United don't have momentum. This could be one of the worst Europa League finals ever, in terms of two teams going into it who have both been utterly useless."

Spurs are aiming to win their first trophy since the 2008 League Cup and manager Ange Postecoglou, who is in his second season in charge, said back in September that "I always win things in my second year".

  20. How much money rests on who wins Europa League final?published at 14:37 British Summer Time

It says everything about the current state of Manchester United that the storyline around their undefeated Europa League campaign is not about finals, trophies and glory, but more the estimated £100m+ cost of not winning the competition.

Whoever lifts the trophy in Bilbao next week will earn a place in next season's Champions League.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire told BBC Sport: "A good season in the Champions League can be worth far in excess of £100m. By the time you combine gate receipts, sponsor bonuses and the prize money available, the numbers involved are eye-watering."

The lowest United have earned from European football in five campaigns between 2019-2024 was about £52m - from last season's group-stage exit in the Champions League.

Since then, Uefa's major revamp of its three competitions has dramatically increased the prize pot, which Maguire says would guarantee United a minimum £70m from Champions League participation next season - even if they lost all of their eight league-stage fixtures.
