Harry Kane missed his first penalty in a competitive match for Bayern Munich but then scored a stoppage-time winner as the Bundesliga champions edged out third-tier Wehen Wiesbaden in the German Cup.

The England captain did score from the spot in the 16th minute to put Bayern ahead and take his record to 31 consecutive penalties scored since the 2022 World Cup.

He had another chance to score a penalty in the 76th minute, but this time his effort was saved by Florian Stritzel, who then denied Kane from a follow-up header and shot.

At that stage the game was 2-2, with Michael Olise having added to Kane's first-half goal before two goals in six minutes by Fatih Kaya levelled it up.

However, Kane had the final say when he struck the winner in stoppage time.

The draw for the second round takes place on Sunday.
