This is West Ham United’s first home European match against Olympiakos since November 1965, winning 4-0 in the Cup Winners’ Cup with goals from Geoff Hurst (x2), Johnny Byrne and Peter Brabrook.
Olympiakos lost their first 12 away major European matches in England but have since won three of their last six on English soil (L3), with all three wins coming against Arsenal (2015, 2020 and 2021).
West Ham United’s 17-game unbeaten run in all European competition (inc. qualifiers) was ended with a 2-1 defeat to Olympiakos on MD3. The Hammers last suffered consecutive defeats in April/May 2022 across both legs of that season’s UEFA Europa League semi-final to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Olympiakos’s 2-1 win over West Ham on MD3 of this season’s UEFA Europa League ended a run of 11 winless games in the competition (D3 L8). They haven’t won consecutive games in the competition since a run of three between March and September 2021.
No player has created more chances in the UEFA Europa League than West Ham United’s James Ward-Prowse (11), creating more chances from set plays than anyone else (10).
