  2. Bantams need a favourpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 27 April

    Bradford v Newport (15:00 BST)

If Bradford are to grab the final play-off spot, they need plenty to go their way.

First they must beat Newport and then hope Barrow lose and Crawley fail to win.

But they have the form to do so. Having looked a good bet for the play-off for much of the season, an alarming slump took them right out of contention.

Since then they have won their last four to put themselves back in the fight.

  3. Maiden play-off appearance out of Crawley's handspublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 27 April

    Crawley v Grimsby (15:00 GMT)

    Kris Temple
BBC Final Score at Broadfield Stadium

“A bit different to last season”, exclaimed a local as I arrived. He was referring to Crawley’s final home game of last campaign, when a draw sealed their League Two survival.

A first ever EFL play off appearance is out of the Red Devils’ hands. They need a helpful turn of events above, but a win over Grimsby is their sole focus.

Crawley, incidentally, have never played at Wembley - old or new - in their history.

  4. Crawley play-off hopes alivepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 27 April

    Crawley v Grimsby (15:00 BST)

Crawley start the day just a point and a place outside the coveted top seven and have a few bites of the cherry to get in the play-offs.

If they do their job and beat 21st-placed Grimsby, defeats for either Doncaster or Crewe - or just a Barrow draw or worse - would be enough for the Reds.

Their recent form isn’t great, though - they have failed to win any of their last four at home.

However, they perhaps couldn’t have wished for better opponents today.

Grimsby Town have the fewest wins on the road in League Two, with just two from their 22 attempts, but they do have 11 draws.

    Gavin Wallace

The atmosphere is starting to build in Cumbria, with the home supporters in buoyant mood ahead of today’s match between Barrow and Mansfield.

Let’s hope these fans are feeling F-A-B at full time!

  6. Barrow's fate in their own handspublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 27 April

    Barrow v Mansfield (15:00 BST)

A win for seventh-placed Barrow against already promoted Mansfield this afternoon would clinch their place in the end-of-season shoot-out. Simple.

Yet any slip would leave the door ajar for Crawley, Bradford or Walsall to sneak through.

The Stags may have little other motivation than second place to play for, but the have won four of their last five meetings with the Cumbrians, including wins on their last three trips to Barrow.

Nigel Clough’s side have won 24 league games this season - their best tally in a Football League campaign since 1976-77.

Yet historically their record on the final day isn’t great, with three wins in the last 14 seasons.

  7. Can Rovers cement play-off spot?published at 14:53 British Summer Time 27 April

    Gillingham v Doncaster (15:00 BST)

Grant McCann, the manager of Doncaster RoversImage source, MI News/NurPhoto via Getty Images

Doncaster, in fifth, just need a point at Gillingham to make the play-offs and only a dramatic turn of events would see them drop out of the top seven.

Namely defeat combined with a Crewe draw AND wins for both Barrow and Crawley.

Doncaster are the division’s form horses and will make history if they can end the regular season with 11 straight wins.

It would not only eclipse their previous-best winning run, but become the first Football League side, outside of the top flight to finish a campaign with 11 consecutive wins. Heady stuff.

Yet they will have a tough task against the Gills who are unbeaten in their last 10 at home and have lost just TWO of their last 27 home games with Doncaster.

Colchester are big favourites to stay up after their revival under Danny Cowley and they need a point to complete the job.

Sutton will be determined not to join Forest Green in the National League with a whimper, though.

  10. Two sides looking to make a point on final daypublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 27 April

    Colchester v Crewe (15:00 BST)

This is one of those slightly tricky situations as both teams would seemingly be happy with a point, but we shan't dwell on that.

A draw would keep Colchester above the drop zone and condemn Sutton to a National League return, while it would also guarantee Crewe a play-off place.

Colchester might have loftier ambitions as they have actually won each of their last four home league games against Crewe, scoring 17 goals in the process.

The Railwaymen have only taken a single point from their last four away games on the final day of the season too.

If they can break that run then both sets of fans might be celebrating come 17:00 BST.

  11. Sutton have it all to dopublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 27 April

MK Dons v Sutton (15:00 BST)

Sutton United head coach Steve MorisonImage source, Wayne Tuckwell/ProSports/Shutterstock

Sutton will be relegated out of the English Football League unless they can win at MK Dons this afternoon, Colchester lose at home to Crewe, and the Us enjoy a four-goal swing in goal difference.

It seems a tall order even before you realise MK have lost only two of their last 17 home league games, claiming 39 points and scoring three-or-more goals in seven of those games.

While Sutton are unbeaten in their last three away games, claiming seven points, only champions Stockport and Wrexham, also promoted, have taken more points at home than MK’s 46.

This will be only the second ever Football League game between MK Dons and Sutton United, after they drew 1-1 in September.

MK have already secured fourth-place, remember.

  12. What's at stake on League Two final daypublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 27 April

    #bbcefl

The promotion race was all wrapped up in League Two with games to spare with champions Stockport, Mansfield and Wrexham all having the luxury of a final day party without the stress.

If anything is at stake here, it’s second place, with the Stags holding that on goal difference from the Dragons.

The relegation picture is also quite clear. Forest Green are already consigned to a National League return, while Colchester need just a point against play-off chasers Crewe to ensure their safety and relegate Sutton.

Sutton, in turn, need a win at play-off bound MK Dons, a Colchester defeat and a five-goal swing in goal difference.

But today is all about the play-offs - and it’s an afternoon that requires focus.

Only fourth-placed MK Dons have bagsied their place, but the other three play-off spots remain up for grabs - with six teams in the mix.

A point at Gillingham would be enough to cement a place for Doncaster, while a draw would also be enough for Crewe away to relegation-battling Colchester.

Seventh-placed Barrow need a win at home to Mansfield to clinch their place in the end-of-season shoot-out.

So far, so simple. But this is where it gets a little more complex.

Crawley, in eighth, will sneak in if they beat lowly Grimsby, but would also need Doncaster or Crewe to lose or Barrow to draw.

The best ninth-placed Bradford can hope for is seventh place which would rely on them beating Newport and then hoping Barrow lose and Crawley fail to win.

The last of our contenders, Walsall, need the biggest turn in events - namely their victory at AFC Wimbledon combined with defeat for Barrow and a six-goal swing in goal difference.

And even if that happened the Saddlers would need Bradford and Crawley to also drop points.

If you’re still with me, congratulations, you have earned some kind of qualification.
