Scott McTominay has scored three goals for Napoli since his summer move from Manchester United
Scott McTominay scored as Serie A leaders Napoli escaped with a draw at reigning champions Inter Milan after Hakan Calhanoglu equalised and then missed a penalty for the hosts.
The result leaves Antonio Conte's side on 26 points, one clear of Atalanta, Fiorentina and Lazio, who are all on 25 along with fourth-placed Inter.
Scotland midfielder McTominay gave the visitors a deserved lead midway through the first half, reacting sharply to flick in Amir Rrahmani's touch at the near post.
Simone Inzaghi's side levelled through Calhanoglu, who drove a swerving 25-yard shot past Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret.
And with Inter then taking control, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's foul on home wing-back Denzel Dumfries presented Calhanoglu with a chance to claim all three points from the penalty spot.
However, the Turkey midfielder, who had converted his previous 19 spot-kicks, blasted his effort against the base of the left post.
While Conte will surely be satisfied with a point on his return to the San Siro against the club he guided to the Scudetto in the 2020-21 season, a late effort from Argentina forward Giovanni Simeone almost snatched victory.
