Bit of panic on in the Leeds defence.

A deep crossfield pass is headed back to his goalkeeper by Sam Byram but Dimitris Giannoulis reads it and Whites keeper Illian Meslier has to be quick to just boot it away.

Straight down the other end Willy Gnonto gets down the Leeds right and sends a low cross in for Georginio Rutter who takes a swing and a miss at the ball under pressure.

Chance for the Frenchman though.

All the pressure, for me, is on Leeds.

Not because of their form, because I think when you get to this stage of the season, form goes out of the window.

Leeds finished 17 points ahead of Norwich in the league table.

It is two cup finals before the grand final at Wembley.

It is all down to the next two, or maybe three matches. The Premier League is the prize at the end.

Not that any of the four sides in action this afternoon will be thinking about this right now but yesterday was a chastening reminder of the task awaiting one of them, plus Leicester and Ipswich, next season.

Burnley's relegation straight back to the Championship was confirmed with a 2-1 loss at Tottenham, while Luton are now all-but relegated too after going down 3-1 at West Ham.

Sheffield United's relegation back to the second tier was confirmed some time ago and that means that, for the first time since 1997-98, all three teams who went up last season have come straight back down.

No doubt about the headline team news from Norwich, as forward Jonathan Rowe comes back into the starting XI for the first time since January. Defender Shane Duffy starts despite being charged with driving while unfit through drink on Monday.

Leeds United make one change from the team who lost 2-1 to Southampton last Saturday. Teenage midfielder Archie Gray comes back in in place of forward Joel Piroe. That means Georginio Rutter will lead the line for the Whites.

Norwich City boss David Wagner and Leeds counterpart Daniel Farke have played down the results between the two sides in the regular season.

Leeds won both games, including coming back from 2-0 down at Carrow Road to win 3-2 in the first meeting between the sides in October.

Farke said the results "don't count anymore" while Wagner, who won promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs with Huddersfield in 2017 said they are "irrelevant".

"They were one of the favourites for promotion and they missed their first target, we reached our first target which was to finish in the top six," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"Now they have the exact same chance as us and the two other teams to be in the Premier League next season, 25%.

"That's why it's not relevant what happened in the previous 46 games."

It's fair to say Leeds have stumbled into the play-offs after they won just one of the final six league games.

Despite their poor run, boss Daniel Farke is understandably upbeat about his side's prospects after finishing third with 90 points in the regular season.

"I totally trust my players and believe in them. They have all my backing and trust," he told BBC Radio Leeds.

"We are not the most experienced side and we are not perfect but I would not swap one player.

"I think we have a winning mentality because on special occasions and spotlight games we are spot on. We played twice against Leicester and won two times, we beat Ipswich twice.

"Sometimes some more consistency would have been great for 'another day in the office' games but when you finish with 90 points you can't complain too much. We have two spotlight games now and I'm optimistic."

Good morning everyone and welcome to live text coverage of the first legs of the Championship play-off semi-finals.

We'll start our day off down in Norfolk as Norwich City look to a Leeds side who finished three places and 17 points above them.

We'll barely have time to pause for breath after that before we head up the... various roads, to West Brom and their game against Southampton.

One of these four teams WILL be playing in the Premier League next season.

Will we be any closer to knowing who that might, or might not, be by the end of today? We're about to find out.
