There is almost... I don't want to say a chip on the shoulder because that carries a negative connotation, but when she comes on she knows what she has to do. She has the time to watch the game and knows where she can get at players and expose the opposition.

For Hannah to come in, with two goalkeepers behind her who haven't got a cap and to play like she's played is amazing. An amazing achievement what she's done so far.

[In] those penalties, she went the right way six out of seven times. I hope it doesn't but if it does go to penalties again, we know we've got a goalkeeper who will go the right way.

She's easily got the best distribution of any goalkeeper in this tournament. One goal she's set up, Steven Gerrard would've been proud of that!

Patients at the children's hospital where Hannah Hampton was treated for an eye condition will be cheering her on tonight.

The Lionesses goalkeeper became an ambassador for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity three years ago after having multiple operations there as a youngster.

"Her aim was to really help inspire some of the patients," said fundraising manager Sheba Ali.

"To give them a role model that shows, despite your condition or your illness, you can go on to achieve your dream. I know lots of the kids will be watching on their tablets [on Tuesday] and really cheering her on."

The decision not to take the knee - it should have always been a personal thing. If you want to take the knee, take the knee. I think it was always forced on people.

Personally, if I was playing now, for everything that the knee represents in terms of justice, equality and everything that goes with it, I would still take the knee. Even if I had to do it on my own.

But over the years I've said everything there is to say about racism and how it affects people, and nothing gets any better.

What I would say to people now is: prepare your children, prepare your family, make them resilient towards it, because it's going to continue to come.

People will say 'Wrighty, that's a bit negative, you're making them win'.

They're winning, they're winning now and they'll continue to win. So I would urge people to get resilient against it.

It's always going to happen, we can't stop it.

I am all for a powerful statement. My only concern is if Italy decide to stand as well, when the game is about to start it looks like nothing is happening. It then no longer is a conversation starter, it is dead and buried.

The conversation is bigger when they are doing something different to the norm. It’s a really tricky situation because lots of people have so many different perspectives. The fact they are coming together to support Jess is huge in itself. It’s hard to find the solution.

There's been a lot of talk about England's players not taking the knee before kick-off.

What is interesting about this change of Esme Morgan for Jess Carter is the crosses that Italy are going to be putting into the box. They have the likes of Cristiana Girelli and Sofia Cantore, and we need some height and presence in that area to help clear the danger.

Esme Morgan brought a sense of calm against Sweden. Her positional awareness was really good and she slotted in really nicely, got to grips with the game pretty quickly.

She also matched Stina Blackstenius for pace and got across to stop runs, and that is where the defence had been struggling.

I think it's a tactical reason [Morgan coming in for Carter] but I am sympathetic with Jess Carter because she's been playing on the left side and she's right-footed and we've been trying to play out so teams have been trapping her.

Italy

Defender Cecilia Salvai, who starts her fifth game at Euro 2025, was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, external at the age of four.

She now works to support a charity set up to help families dealing with serious childhood illnesses.

The Juventus centre-back missed the 2019 and 2023 World Cups because of serious injury, as well as Euro 2022.

Salvai has helped her side to within one win of a first European Championship final since 1997.
