Goodnight.
Noni Madueke steps up and his penalty is saved. Villarreal win this meaningless shootout.
Sorry Pau Cabanes, I was being lazy there. Take the credit.
Number 33 scores for Villarreal. Can't be bothered looking to see what his name is.
Arsenal fans cheer Gabriel's penalty as it looks as if it's gone in but the keeper actually makes a fine save and palms it onto the crossbar.
It bounces on the line but doesn't cross it.
LOL!!!!
Villarreal's Jean Valou slams a penalty off the crossbar.
Oleksandr Zinchenko scores for Arsenal.
Santi Comesana sends Kepa the wrong way. He set up a goal in the game. I think it's 3-2 now. Doesn't matter what the score is.
Mikel Merino does a stop-start run-up and puts his kick wide.
Ex-Tottenham forward Arnaut Danjuma's kick somehow goes through Kepa and it's 2-2.
Declan Rice slams in his penalty to give Arsenal a 2-1 lead in a penalty shootout that I cannot stress enough means nothing.
Few boos for ex-Arsenal loanee Denis Suarez as he steps up to take this one.
It hits the post. Suarez walks away with a smile on his face.
Martin Odegaard missed in another nonsense shootout against AC Milan - but scores here.
As he did with his spot-kick in the actual game tonight.
Kepa did guess right there but couldn't keep it out.
Alberto Moleiro scores the first penalty for Villarreal.
I actually wrote a whole article on Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha the other day.

Lee, London: I’ve seen two English footballers in my life who came into Division One/PL playing with a potential beyond even the top players. Gascoigne in the 80’s and Rooney 2002. I’m adding Dowman 2025 to that list. Kid has the lot!
Thanks Brendon.
