    Ballymena break quickly with Success Edogun and Ethan Devine playing a neat one-two but Edogun's effort, while on target, lacks the pace to beat Lewis Ridd.

    Ballymena have certainly been the dominant attacking force in the opening 15 minutes.

    Aaron Jarvis collects the ball in midfield for Ballymena, takes a couple of yards forwards and unleashes a fierce strike from 25 yards which has keeper Lewis Ridd beaten all ends up but drops inches wide of the post.

    My goodness, what a start to this game.

    Glentoran now almost grab the lead. Ciaran Coll crosses from the left with David Fisher's header at the back post coming off the woodwork.

    The ball then rebounds off Joe Crowe in defence, but the centre-back manages to hook clear as the ball sails dangerously close to the goal line.

    Somehow it is still scoreless in east Antrim.

    A round of applause ripples around Taylors Avenue in the fourth minute of the game for Carrick, and former Glens player Cameron Stewart who suffered a brain aneurysm during the week and remains in hospital.

    The applause was carried out impeccably by both sets of fans.

    First effort on goal comes form Ballymena as Success Edogun cuts in from the left flank and fires an effort which bounces in the rutted goalmouth but Cliftonvlle keeper Lewis Ridd gets his body firmly behind it to save comfortably.

    Chris Shields, who looks to be playing in defence again this afternoon, thwarts a dangerous Glenavon attack as the visitors hit Linfield on the counter attack.

    Len O'Sullivan's cross was a dangerous one, but Shields was on hand to clear the danger.
