So arrogant of Liverpool fans to assume Xabi Alonso would win Bayer Leverkusen their first ever league title and immediately jump ship to join them instead of continue his work and take Leverkusen into the Champions League. Maybe he’ll leave the following season, so appointing a club legend like Steven Gerrard makes absolute sense, even if it’s just a stop gap for one season.

The fixture, due to take place on Monday, 8 April, will now be at 18:00 BST on Sunday, 7 April because of London Underground and train strikes.

The local authority's Safety Advisory Group deemed the required level of safety for fans was not possible as a result of the action.

    The league apologised "unreservedly".

Tottenham said only one of the six stations that serve the stadium will run as normally on 8 April.

Xabi Alonso needs to stay at Bayer Leverkusen until he's proven this year is not a one-off. Blackburn 1995, Leicester 2016, etc. Once he has shown he's the genuine article, then move to a bigger.

I doubt Liverpool will promote Jurgen Klopp's assistant very much. He’d be another Roy Evans. They need a new leader - fresh start. Appointing an assistant would not be a move forward.

If I go and buy stocks I am gambling, if my friend who works in bank trading support does it then it's insider trading and is illegal. Gambling addiction is real and I know people with it. But to be clear Sandro Tonali's job means that what he did was effectively insider trading and should be punished to the max.

Newcastle v West Ham (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on this season: "[It's been] challenging, for sure. The international break is a chance to recharge but it's certainly not been that for me.

"It's following suit from the rest of the season. There have been things thrown up that have been there to test us all the time.

"If we can come through this season with a positive finish, I think we'll look back on a season that's really helped us grow and I think we'll be better for it in every sense. But of course, we have to have that positive ending and that's what we're desperate for."

On warm-weather training in Dubai: "During the season, sometimes you need a break from the same environment, the same surroundings."

Can't believe I'm reading Stevie Gerrard and Roberto De Zerbi mentioned from some Liverpool fans. Nowhere near good enough in my opinion. Done nothing to suggest they could run a huge club. We need to get this decision right and hopefully at the first attempt, otherwise Jurgen Klopp's work within the whole of the club (forget success,) the whole setup would be undone and we'd turn into another Manchester United trying to find the Fergie years.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on winger Anthony Gordon making his England debut against Brazil: "It is a really satisfying feeling for me, a sense of pride. I've seen how hard Anthony's had to work for that moment. He has been committed.

"It hasn't been easy for him, he's had to work at every aspect of his game and he's had some difficult moments. But this season he's really flourished and produced some really consistent performances.

"I knew how much it would mean to him and I thought he played really well. It was great to see him and Bruno [Guimaraes] going against each other."

Newcastle v West Ham (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Newcastle United

More from Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Sandro Tonali: "The news that there was an FA charge, that illness didn't stop when he moved to England. That illness was there and people should look at it that way - not let's throw the book at him and punish him even further because I don't think that gets to the root of the problem.

"We need to protect all our players. This is something that's open to everybody and becoming a bigger problem in society. This isn't just a problem for Sandro."
