Marcus Kane is the second player to go in referee Tim Marshall's notebook for his late challenge on Joel Cooper.

Glentoran eventually get the resulting free-kick clear after a brief moment of panic.

Matthew Orr crosses into a dangerous area where Chris McKee meets the ball with his head, but can't keep his effort on target.

That's a free header for McKee who is visibly frustrated at himself.

  4. 'David Healy will be furious with that defending'published at 20:59 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    Glentoran 1-0 Linfield

    Colin Coates
Glenavon first team coach on BBC iPlayer

It's a brilliant finish from Jordan Jenkins and what a rich vein of form he is in. Disappointing from a Linfield point of view, for me Ben Hall has to deal with that, but once he makes the mistake it is a great take from Jenkins. The onus is on Linfield to take the game to Glentoran, David Healy will be furious with that defending.

GOAL - Glentoran 1-0 Linfieldpublished at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    Jordan Jenkins - 53 mins

The deadlock is broken and it's Jordan Jenkins who gives Glentoran the lead!

A defensive mix up between Ben Hall, Dane McCullough and Chris Shields allows Jenkins to nip in and strike a right-footed effort into the bottom corner leaving David Walsh with absolutely no chance.

Hall seemed to leave Joe Thomson's ball forward for one of his defensive partners, with Jenkins pouncing and striking with precision.

Cameron Palmer tries his luck from distance but shoots well over the bar with a speculative effort.

The second half has started similarly to the first with a lot of midfield battles and long balls forward.

Dane McCullough plays a dangerous ball into the box from the left-hand side but no Linfield player gets on the end of it as Daniel Gyollai comfortably gathers.

Hopefully the game will settle a bit more, I want to see Kyle McClean and Joel Cooper get on the ball more. We want to see the ball on the ground a bit more and give the massive crowd here something to cheer about. Neither goalkeeper has had a save to make yet really.

  13. Loughgall boss Smith handed 15-game suspensionpublished at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    HT: Glentoran 0-0 Linfield

Loughgall boss Dean Smith has been handed a 15-game ban as punishment for his protests after Glentoran were awarded what proved to be a late match-winning penalty in last weekend's Irish Premiership contest at Lakeview Park.

In post-match interviews, Smith described the penalty decision as "disgusting" as referee Shane McGonigle adjudged that Ben Murdock had handled in the area with Loughgall insisting the ball had instead hit their player in the face.

Glentoran's Joe Thomson scored the spot-kick which earned the east Belfast side a 2-1 success.

"I have to be careful what I say because if I tell the truth I'll probably get suspended," said Smith following the game.

However, the Irish FA has now handed Smith his whopping ban after ruling that he breached two of its disciplinary articles.

Smith has been given a 10-match ban for breaching article 23.1 which involved "offending the dignity of a person or group of persons through contemptuous, discriminatory or denigratory words or actions concerning race, colour, language, religion, sectarianism".

A further five-game suspension has been imposed under article 14.1 which deals with players or officials "reported for unsporting conduct towards a match official".

Smith has also been fined £600 for the rules breaches.

    Glenn Ferguson
Former Linfield and Glenavon striker on BBC iPlayer

No one wants to make a mistake or give anything away, the ball has been in the air a lot and there have been a lot of battles in the midfield. Maybe in the second half there will be a bit more quality, we need more quality on the ball.

  15. 'Both teams seem to be nervous in their play'published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    HT: Glentoran 0-0 Linfield

    Paul Leeman
Former Glentoran captain on BBC iPlayer

You can tell it is such a big game, both teams seem to be nervous in their play. It's been a scrappy sort of game, the strikers have been starved of service. Hopefully in the second half the game can open up more.

  16. 'Game has been on a knife edge'published at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    HT: Glentoran 0-0 Linfield

It has been good, there hasn't been a lot of goalmouth action, but the game has been on a knife edge and both teams are cancelling each other out.

Kodi Lyons-Foster meets Daniel Amos' free-kick with his head in a dangerous area, but can't quite keep his effort down as he heads just over the crossbar.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    Glentoran 0-0 Linfield

Nice move from Linfield down the left as Dane McCullough finds Kieran Offord, who turns past Fuad Sule as he shifts the ball onto his right foot and strikes goalward.

His effort is deflected onto the roof of the net, with Ben Hall rising highest from the resulting corner to meet Joel Cooper's cross which hits the top of the crossbar and goes behind for a goal kick.

The Blues are beginning to turn the screw at the end of the first half.

  20. Postpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January

    Glentoran 0-0 Linfield

Kyle McClean whips the resulting free-kick into a dangerous area which Ben Hall gets his head on and flicks towards the back post, with Matthew Orr trying to divert the ball goalward but for a block from a Glentoran defender.

Marcus Kane then stops any advances from Cameron Ballantyne with a firm but fair tackle.
