Clarke's response to the game being must-win was an interesting one.

The Scotland boss took some serious criticism after the must-win Euro 2024 group decider against Hungary in Germany.

There was a feeling his side were too cautious for the majority of that match and only went for it in the closing stages before losing a late goal.

The Hampden crowd will want to see intent from the first whistle tomorrow.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke on how he's feeling ahead of the must-win match: "Pretty calm considering the magnitude of the game and the occasion. I trust my players, I always trust my players. We've recovered well from the trip to Greece. The lads are in pretty good spirits because they know what's in front of them.

"This was always the scenario we had in our head that this could be the chance, a home game against Denmark to qualify for a World Cup so everyone is in a good place."

Scotland manager Steve Clarke on whether his team will become legends with World Cup qualification: "If you look at what we've achieved over the last six-and-a-half years, a lot of these players are already - I'll use your words - legends. They're very high in the rankings of what we've done as a country.

"When I took the job a lot of people were saying don't touch it, it's a poisoned chalice, you can't do this. I looked at the group of players and said I see some quality there. I look forward to working with this group of players because I think we can achieve good things. we've managed to do that.

"Now we've got another very very good thing that we can achieve together."

Scotland manager Steve Clarke on taking their second opportunity after Denmark's slip up against Belarus: "I think it's the first opportunity if I read the group right. We've got 10 points, Denmark have got 11.

"We always thought when the draw was made that if we could get it down to the final game at Hampden, that would be an achievement. We were drawn as a pot three team, we're already in second place. We want to go one step further and finish at the top of the group."

Billy Gilmour's out. That's a huge blow for Scotland.

Not sure there's another midfielder in the squad that can bring composure to a hectic night.
