Hibernian 2-1 Dundee: What the manager saidpublished at 18:22 24 February
18:22 24 February
Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells BBC Scotland: "It's disappointing to come away with nothing from the game. In the first half, we were uncharacteristically poor in possession. It wasn't like us, we passed up good opportunities by not taking care of the ball.
"We addressed that at half-time, made a couple of changes. I thought through our spirit, mentality and resilience, we got ourselves back in the game.
"At that stage, the game became a game of basketball, and I thought we were going to go and win it.
"I must emphasise, I get everything from that group. We must remind ourselves, we're the newly-promoted team. We've got ourselves in a good position but we seem to keep getting punished for mistakes we make.
"There's a real resilience from that group, they always bounce back and respond. There's real disappointment in that dressing room, and that's testament to where we are.
"We played poorly, and we're disappointed not to come away with a point. I can't ask much more. If you don't do enough to win the game, don't lose it. That's the message.

Hibs' finally got a win - and it was a deserved one. Dundee have done well this season, but this was a performance to forget.
Their weak right side was exposed, and sloppy and error-strewn attacking play meant if they were given a chance to get forward, they couldn't take it.
They looked far more solid with three at the back, which also allowed Owen Beck more licence to get forward. If it ain't broke...

Lamie agrees to extend Dundee stay beyond summerpublished at 22:31 23 February
22:31 23 February
Ricki Lamie has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Dundee permanently at the end of the centre-back's season-long loan from Motherwell this summer.
The 30-year-old's latest two appearances have been off the bench, but he has started his other 11 for Well's Scottish Premiership rivals.
Lamie told Dundee's website "it was an extremely easy decision" to extend his stay as he has "really enjoyed my time" with the side sitting sixth in the table, six points ahead of his parent club.
"We’ve done well so far, but I think there is more to come from this team and I want to be part of that this season and in the future," he said.
"There’s a great mix at the club, with experienced players and then exciting young players. There is a good feeling around the club.
"There are also exciting plans for the club off the pitch with the new stadium and training facilities and I want to be part of that.
"I feel that I’m at a really good stage in my career where I can bring a lot to the table on and off the pitch."

Shaughnessy aiming to rediscover clean sheet success published at 10:28 23 February
10:28 23 February
Joe Shaughnessy says Dundee are aware of their poor clean sheet record in recent months and he hopes to help the defence rediscover their impressive record from the start of the campaign.
The Dens Park side's 2-0 win over Ross County last weekend marked their first shutout in nine games in all competitions.
Having previously gone on a run of five clean sheets in six games between September and November, the skipper says his team are aiming to show more solidity when they travel to top-six rivals Hibs on Saturday.
"We're on the back of a couple of good wins and it puts us in a good position. It's just a chance for us to and open up a bigger gap between us and Hibs," said centre-back Shaughnessy.
"Any time we've had a couple of bad results, we've managed to react and get back to winning ways, which is probably why we are where we are at the minute.
"We definitely strengthened the squad in January and the manager is happy with the new recruits. They've settled in well and have helped us out.
"At the start of the season, we had a run of a few clean sheets which is what we built our success on. Since we've come back from the winter break, I think that was our first one [against County]. It's definitely something we're aware of and something we want to keep up.
"I do like playing at Hibs. I've scored a couple of goals there and I made my debut for Aberdeen there back in 2012. I like Easter Road and the fact I've scored a couple of goals there only adds to it."

Hibernian have conceded in eight consecutive Scottish Premiership matches, conceding 16 goals in this period at an average of two per game. This is their longest run of league matches without a clean sheet since December 2021 (run of 10 matches).
'Strong feeling about Dundee squad' - Docherty published at 17:51 21 February
17:51 21 February
Tony Docherty was full of praise for the "healthy level of competition" in his Dundee squad as they look to cement their place in the top six.
Back-to-back league victories for the Dens Park side have opened up a five-point gap to seventh-placed Hibs, with a trip to Easter Road in the offing on Saturday.
After suffering with injury issues, the Dundee manager says he's pleased with how fringe players have stepped up and taken their chance in the team.
"We're getting everybody back and there's a real strong feeling about the squad," Docherty said. "There's a real level of healthy competition which I'm sure you can see from the players that have come in."
"Mo Sylla, recently, has performed at a really high level but he's waited his turn. He's taken his opportunity and I like to see that. That'll help us achieve our objectives.
"There's been an adaption period for Tiff [Scott Tiffoney] coming up from the Championship with the intensity that we play at and the intensity of the Premiership.
"He's been working really, really hard. For him to get his reward and take on the instruction was really good to see.
"The most pleasing thing for me about the most recent win was the clean sheet. We hadn't had one in quite a while. I think a lot of that was down to the injuries we had. For a long time I was missing [Antonio] Portalles, [Ricki] Lamie, [Aaron] Donnelly.
"Now it's to try and build on that. At this stage of the season it's important to build on any kind of momentum you have, and that's what we endeavour to do."

Dundee manager Tony Docherty has been speaking to the media ahead of his side's trip to top six rivals Hibs on Saturday.
Here are the key points from his news conference...
Their "sole objective" is to pick up all three points as Docherty talks down the opportunity to open up a eight-point lead on their opponents with a win in the capital.
Challenging his side to build on their recent momentum and continue to keep clean sheets with their boosted defensive options.
Adds the bolstered backline allowed Lee Ashcroft to go on loan to Raith, saying the defender had multiple suitors from the second tier.
Expecting a "very tough game" with Hibs. Compliments their "expansive" style of play and says his players with relish playing at a "great venue" such as Easter Road.
Praises the "healthy" level of competition in his squad with a "blend" of youth and experience. Highlights Scott Tiffoney and Mo Sylla for taking their opportunity when afforded game time.
Michael Mellon is "great" after suffering a serious head knock against St Johnstone. The Burnley loanee is fully fit and available for selection, as is Antonio Portalles and Ricki Lamie. Ryan Howley, Charlie Reilly and Diego Pineda are still struggling with injuries, though Curtis Main is "getting up to speed".

Ashcroft joins Raith on loanpublished at 16:00 21 February
16:00 21 February
Dundee defender Lee Ashcroft has joined Championship contenders Raith Rovers on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old has been at the Dens Park side since July 2020, twice winning promotion to the Premiership from the second tier.
Ashcroft has made 13 appearances for Dundee this campaign, scoring his only goal in the 1-1 draw that cost then-Aberdeen boss Barry Robson his job.
Raith say the former Kilmarnock defender was the subject of interest from multiple Championship clubs, but it was Ian Murray who landed his signature ahead of a switch to Stark's Park.

And just like that, it's back-to-back victories for the Dee as this team starts to make more supporters believe that we can push on for a top-six finish this season.
Saturday's victory over a struggling Ross County team was achieved with quite some ease. The Highlanders did manage to get a good few crosses into our box and a couple of chance, but ultimately this Dundee team stood up to what they had to offer and dealt with it quite comfortably.
We took the chances that came our way and the backline knocked away any danger that was applied to it, with the points staying on Tayside along with a long overdue clean sheet.
This performance reminded me of the Dundee displays we put together at the start of the season - comfortable in defence and lethal up top.
With results going our way, it now means we have a five-point cushion over Hibs and Aberdeen, and even though that can change quite quickly on Saturday, it's certainly got the fans believing that we should be aiming for higher than we would have initially at the start of the season.
My prediction of an eighth or ninth-place finish now seems a bit out of date. Normally as Dundee fans, we just want to get by. Happy to just stay in the league and do so every season.
Things seem to be changing for the club however. Behind the scenes and on the park, we are moving forward, and so should be our aims. I'm not talking about third-placed finishes and challenging the Old Firm. I'm taking about challenging to be in the top six of the top flight of Scottish football.
For too long we have accepted 'just getting by.' Now, with the team and momentum we have right now, we should be accepting higher than joking at happy to be there.
Even if we don't manage to finish in the top six, things are going in the right direction, and that's something we should be building on.
