    • Aberdeen are unbeaten in their last five Scottish Premiership matches against St. Johnstone (W3 D2); the Dons last went six without defeat against the Saints in the league between September 2000 and November 2009 (8 games).

    • St. Johnstone have failed to score in four of their last five Scottish Premiership meetings with Aberdeen, though did draw 1-1 in their most recent encounter last month.

    • Aberdeen have drawn each of their last four Scottish Premiership home games, as many as their previous 28 beforehand (W16 D4 L8). They last drew five successive home league fixtures from May to September 2012.

    • St. Johnstone’s Craig Levein has won more Scottish top-flight matches as a manager against Aberdeen (P33 W17 D8 L8) than any other opponent, though he is currently on his longest winless run against the Dons in the league (3 – L2 with Hearts, D1 with St. Johnstone).

  5. Saints to be 'cautious' with Sidibehpublished at 17:26 27 February

St Johnstone will be "as cautious as we need to be" with Adama Sidibeh following the striker's release from hospital, says manager Craig Levein.

The 25-year-old St Johnstone striker went down on the pitch after full-time of St Mirren's win over the Perth side, prompting medical responses from both clubs.

And Levein told the St Johnstone website: "The protocol is that he still has to get a scan. We are trying to organise that as we speak.

"We are just being as cautious as we need to be. Once that is done and we get the OK, then we can get back to talking about the football side of things.

"Thankfully the medical teams did a really good job and they have taken care of him really well in hospital the last few days. We will be guided by the people who know best with regards to his return to the squad."

Adama Sidibeh has been released from hospital after collapsing following the conclusion of Saturday's Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren, his club has confirmed.

The St Johnstone striker went down on the pitch after the full-time whistle, prompting medical responses from both sides.

The 25-year-old will now "continue his recovery" and is said to be grateful of the support following the incident.

A club statement read: "St Johnstone Football Club is pleased to confirm that Adama Sidibeh has been released from hospital and will now continue his recovery.

"As well as our own medical team, we would again like to place on record our thanks to the staff of St Mirren and to the staff at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

"Adama himself would like to thank everyone for the kind messages of support he has received over the past couple of days."

  8. 'Huge week' for St Johnstone in relegation tusslepublished at 18:26 26 February

Michael Stewart column Image source, BBC/SNS

I sensed a change in David Martindale this weekend. Ahead of kick-off, you could see he was desperate for the game to start.

Before the relegation rivals met, I said it would be vitally important that Ross County picked up the three points and put Livingston to bed. However, with the way the game unfolded, I'm not sure it's a closed case.

They’ve got absolutely huge games to come against Motherwell and then St Johnstone. Now, Ross County are only two points behind the Perth Saints with a game in hand.

This next week is going to be absolutely huge for all three clubs at the bottom of the relegation tussle.

Despite losing that big game in the Highlands, I wouldn’t write Livingston off just yet. I saw a bit of the old Livi – and a bit of the old Martindale – on Saturday afternoon.

That’s not to say they’re going to survive, but even after defeat, I’m just not as certain as I was two weeks ago. It should be a fascinating conclusion to the season.

  9. 'Incredible' response to Sidibeh scare - Robinson published at 15:18 26 February

St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson has hailed the 'incredible' response after St Johnstone striker Adama Sidibeh collapsed during the sides' meeting in Paisley.

The Perth club confirmed on Saturday that the 25-year-old was in a "stable" condition following "further medical checks" at a local hospital.

His manager Craig Levein told BBC Scotland after the game the player had "low blood pressure".

Having watched on from the opposite dugout, Robinson wished Sidibeh a speedy recovery.

“Our medical team were incredible, [physio] Gerry Docherty and Ian [Heron], our doc, were top class," he said. "St Johnstone acknowledged that as well, both medical teams.

“It really does put football into perspective when a boy has collapsed on the football pitch.

“We wish him well. Everybody at St Mirren wishes him well and we hope to see him back on the pitch fit and healthy as soon as possible.”

  11. 'We know it needs to be better' - Mitov published at 17:05 25 February

    Dimitar MitovImage source, SNS

Dimitar Mitov admits his St Johnstone side lacked "fighting spirit" as they continued their poor form with defeat at St Mirren.

The Perth club's 2-0 loss in Paisley leaves them with just one win in their last 10 league outings, now just two points above Ross County, who have a game in hand.

Mitov - who has been one of the struggling Saints' top performers this campaign - insists there's enough at McDiarmid Park to turn things around.

"[It was] Really disappointing," he told Saints TV. "There's ways of losing games and we didn't show fighting spirit today which is the most disappointing thing.

"Sometimes when you lose the game, you at least showed you can fight and play better. We didn't do that and deservedly we lost the game.

"We wanted to bounce back from the last game. We worked in a lot of things in training but they just didn't come off today.

"Everyone in the changing room knows it needs to be better. I do believe in this team because we do have good players, it's just about when we're going to click.

"We keep saying the same things over and over, but there's a lot of good lads in there and I'm sure with a positive mindset we can turn this around."

  12. 'Something rotten since cup double' published at 13:14 25 February

    Your Views

We asked for your thoughts after St Johnstone's poor run continued with defeat in Pasiley.

Here's a taste of what you had to say:

Ryan: Rubbish. Utter rubbish. Week after week the same basic mistakes. Craig Levein is the only one to blame for today’s result but something is very, very rotten at St Johnstone ever since the double.

Ally: Craig Levein always laments the team's poor decision making, as he does not take the training personally. He should look closer to home for the cure. Absolutely poor tactics and team selections leave a lot to be desired. His only achievement as a manager was to get Hearts relegated, looks like he is going to do the same for Saints.

Anon: It’s bad enough when you set out a team not to win but when you keep on losing playing shocking football it’s game over before you start.

Sandy: Can't understand why Stevie May is not getting a chance but as there is no midfield control or attacking play from midfield, forwards are never going to influence games anyway.

St Johnstone manager Craig Levein has given an update on the distressing scenes involving forward Adama Sidibeh following his side's full-time loss to St Mirren.

"He collapsed. We think low blood pressure," he told BBC Scotland.

"They done a lot of tests and he seems to be stable. He has been alert and fine. But obviously, it is a concern."

On St Johnstone's performance this afternoon, Levein accepted the showing was far from what he expects of his side.

"We did not play very well today. We made some very poor decisions at critical moments and invited pressure onto ourselves. The game became a second-ball game almost and we didn't deal with that as well as we should have.

"It's about getting our heads down and digging our way out. We just have to keep going, there is nothing else for it. We are working hard in training and doing our best to pass the ball - there was times today you wouldn't have known that."

  17. St Mirren 2-0 St Johnstone: Analysispublished at 17:34 24 February

Jane Lewis, BBC Scotland at The SMiSA Stadium

Neither side played their best stuff here, but at least St Mirren managed to grind out a result.

St Johnstone offered very little. They showed a bit more desire towards the end of the second half, but they created very little and lacked any real fire power.

Given the events in Dingwall, they’ve now been sucked into a relegation battle - sitting only two points off the play-off spot.

  18. Three changes; McGowan outpublished at 14:22 24 February

Craig Levein opts to make three changes following last Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Rangers at McDiarmid Park.

Ryan McGowan, who misses out after receiving stitches on a foot wound, is replaced by Aston Villa loanee Kerr Smith.

Tony Gallacher fills in for David Keltjens on the wing, while Nicky Clark starts in attack in place of Connor Smith.
