'Hope drove me when I was without a club' - Mendy

Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy says hope is the word that best sums up his career and what drove him on when he was unemployed and without a club.

The 33-year-old went on to win the Champion's League with Chelsea in Europe and in Asia with his current Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.

He has now started ChangeKeepers, an organisation which aims to give hope to disadvantaged children in Senegal, helping with education and entrepreneurship.

BBC Afrique spoke to Mendy in Dakar.
