Aston Villa boss Natalia Arroyo says her side must be "brave but smart" as they aim to secure their first win of the Women's Super League season against Liverpool on Sunday (12:00 BST).

"I want the team to be brave, but just how are we describing 'brave'?" said Arroyo in her pre-match news conference.

"Does it mean I am killing myself and leaving myself exposed? No. I am just trying to be brave but smart."

The side drew their first game away at Brighton before losing their home opener against reigning champions Chelsea last weekend.

Arroyo added: "We need to be probably much more brave now that we feel that we need this win but [it's] the third game, we don't need to do anything, just to keep improving.

"Depending on the game at some point you will be accepting that one point is better than nothing. But, I am super satisfied with how we are training, how we are performing, just stay on it, be patient and the results will come."

Here are the other key lines from her news conference:

    • Goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo and defender Paula Tomas have returned from injury and will be in squad

    • D'Angelo and Tomas will give "more opportunities to change game and not just survive"

    • Liverpool "performing better than their results are saying" and they deserved more from opening games but "lacking efficiency in box"

Leicester City interim head coach Rick Passmoor says he takes the job "day-by-day" as prepares to take charge of his third Women's Super League game this season.

The former West Ham assistant coach was named the Foxes boss on 2 September after Amandine Miquel was sacked just 10 days before the start of the new campaign.

Leicester were heavily beaten 4-0 at Manchester United on the opening game of the season but fought to a 1-0 win over Liverpool last time out. Next up, they take on champions Chelsea on Sunday.

"I ask if there's movement and I've been around the block a few times," said Passmoor at his pre-match news conference.

"I get on with the job every day and the staff have taken on every bit of information and applied it around behaviours.

"We're building a platform steadily but I take it day by day until the phone call says otherwise.

"I'm looking after the club on an interim basis until they tell me to move over and I'll give it 110%."
