The timing sheet is basically a Ferrari sandwich with A LOT of filling.

Into the final two minutes and Charles Leclerc is going to finish this session quickest. No-one is out there doing fast laps at the moment.

In contrast to Arvid Lindblad, Antonio Fuoco appears to be struggling in the Ferrari. He is down in 20th and more than half a second slower than any other car.

    Who is the title favourite?

Katherine McAdam: Piastri or Lando will win the drivers championship, Max’s head isn’t in the game and oh my opinion isn’t in the running. Next season is the season for all the rookies! I can see an Antonelli masterclass!

Great time by Red Bull rookie Arvid Lindblad.

He had dropped to the bottom of the timesheet but he's just leapt up to fifth on softs with a time that is six tenths off Charles Leclerc's 1:18.380.

I can't actually remember the last time we had a two-stop race - not properly, anyway.

I'd very happily see a tyre introduced again where you get that steep drop off, where suddenly you have grip and then it just falls away from you.

Alex: Now verstappen has a car equal to the Mclaren (possibly better now its had more major upgrades this weeked) I cant see anyone else winning it...piastry is crumbling.

It's interesting Red Bull have continued developing - and it's really paying off for them at the moment.

Thankfully for all of us it's made a really, really interesting end to the season.

Not that it wouldn't have been interesting between the two McLaren drivers, but when you throw Max Verstappen into the mix... it's delicious.

Oscar Piastri said he'd rather be the one being hunted down - and absolutely you want track position and the one leading the championship so everything is in your control.

It just doesn't feel like he is in control at the moment.

    Andrew Benson
BBC F1 correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I think it's really interesting the way Oscar Piastri's season has gone off the boil in the way that it has.

He was asked after Austin specifically whether it was the pressure and he said he didn't think it was.

Whatever it is that's led to it, he has had four very difficult weekends. For his own sake in terms of his self confidence I think he really needs to have a good weekend here.

I think it's good the slate has been wiped clean [between the McLaren drivers].

I suspect the one thing they will be told before they go out on Sunday is 'please don't crash into each other'.
