Charles Leclerc jumps the McLaren of Oscar Piastri, complete with that Senna-inspired livery, with a time of 1:12.521 on the soft compound.
Australian Piastri, who is now Leclerc's adopted son for the weekend, is gearing up for another run but as he reaches Sainte Devote, Piastri bails out to sanctuary of the escape road.

The thing about lap times in Monaco is they do change all the time.
You are always finding time, in theory as a driver, you are just pushing yourself a little bit further every time you go into a corner, every time you run up against a barrier you want to get that extra couple of millimetres out of it and a little bit more performance.

The Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton is in the run-off area at Turn One and is doing some of his best reversing to get himself back among the track action after a big lock-up. Mission complete, so the track goes green once again, although Hamilton says his tyres are done.

The drivers have headed back out on track - the majority on softs - after a lengthy queue to rejoin the action.
George Russell goes to the top of the timesheets with a 1:13.988 but that marker is beaten by the Haas of Nico Hulkenberg with a time over three-tenths faster.
