    Max Verstappen clears Alosno and he is up into eighth, he's really making mince meat of some of the midfielders. He's gained nearly ten places in just over five laps.

    George Russell has got that gap to Lando Norris in second back up to over a second, but the McLaren is definitely hunting down the Mercedes man.

    Yuki Tsunoda is third, Esteban Ocon is keeping him Alpine in fourth and Charles Leclerc has gained two places and is running five.

    In the battle from the lead, Lando Norris is gaining on the Mercedes of George Russell, with the gap between the pair 0.769 seconds.

    The clouds are beginning to look dark overhead. The rain is set to last around three minutes, Red Bull tells Max Verstappen running in 10th place.

    Verstappen is four-tenths off Pierre Gasly, as the Frenchman has lifted his Alpine up to ninth.

    Great start from George Russell, he just got the traction and the drive on the inside line and there was nothing that Norris could do.

    Norris is still under investigation it should be fairly cut and dry breach of the rules and penalty to be applied but they've had ten minutes of this and still not worked out what happened.

    A mess at the start of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Lance Stroll crashes on the formation lap. Aborted start. Lando Norris then leads the cars away for a second formation lap when lights were still orange, against the rules. He is now under investigation.

    All the cars followed Norris away for a second time - albeit some delayed themselves, including Max Verstappen, who pointed out the error. Red Bull say they are "trying to unpick it". What chance a protest?
