Donegal are through to their first Ulster MFC final since 2006 after a 2-19 to 1-10 win over Antrim at Clones.

An unanswered 2-5 either side of half-time was key to Donegal's victory.

Substitute Ethan O'Donnell grabbed the opening goal in first-half stoppage time and Jamie Brennan added a second after 35 minutes to kill the game.

Lorcan Connor top-scored with 0-9 for Donegal, including five points from play, while Brendan Corr scored a consolation goal for Antrim late on.

Connor was the star turn of the first half, scoring 0-5 including three points from play.

He got two of Donegal's early points as they opened up a 0-3 to 0-0 lead before Odhran Eastwood got Antrim's opening score in the 10th minute.

Antrim captain Ruairi Scott knocked over a couple of long-range frees in the opening half as the Saffrons gradually got themselves on level terms.

Padraig Mackle brought Antrim level for the first time at 0-5 apiece after 21 minutes and Scott's third free put his team ahead at 0-6 to 0-5.

Donegal responded brilliantly to going behind for the first time and scored 1-2 in the last three minutes of the half.

Connor's sharp turn and point, followed by a free by the same player, nudged Donegal back in front before sub Ethan O'Donnell's low finish to the net in first-half stoppage time.

Donegal took the game away from Antrim completely with a quick-fire scoring burst of 1-3 in the opening five minutes after the break, Brennan's goal coming after a superb run and pass from Caolan McGonigle.

Seamus McGarry's free ended a 15 minute scoring drought for the Saffrons, during which time they had shipped 2-5.

The game was over as a contest when Donegal led by 2-12 to 0-7 but Corr twisted and turned to score a goal for Antrim in the 52nd minute.
