Niall Sludden retires from inter-county football as an All-Ireland winner and three-time Ulster Championship winner
Tyrone All-Ireland winner Niall Sludden has announced his retirement from inter-county football.
During a distinguished career with the Red Hands, Sludden won three Ulster senior titles, including back-to-back successes in 2016 and 2017.
The Dromore clubman played a key part in Tyrone lifting the Sam Maguire Cup for a fourth time in 2021, the Ulster county beating Mayo in the final.
His performances that season earned him an All Star award.
Sludden has been a mainstay of the Tyrone team since making his debut against Queen's in the competition in 2016 and went on to make 116 appearances for the county, racking up a personal points tally of 7-92.
He was also part of the side which reached the 2018 All-Ireland final, in which Mickey Harte's side lost to Dublin in the decider.
Tyrone joint managers Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan will also be without the services of Ronan McNamee for the forthcoming campaign, after he also quit the inter-county panel.
Tyrone will begin their 2024 season on Sunday afternoon when they host Donegal in the McKenna Cup.
