Brit golfers reflect on their Masters

Martin Laird finished in a tie for 20th on his Masters debut and the Scot thoroughly enjoyed his experience.

Playing with Tiger Woods in the final round, he shot a 73 to finish the tournament on three under par, 11 shots behind winner Charl Schwartzel.

"I was a little frustrated at how I played but overall what a great week," the 28-year-old told BBC Sport.

"Every day you learn a little more on this course and I can't wait to come back again next year."

The US-based Glaswegian recovered from an opening 74 with back-to-back 69s to secure a Sunday pairing with Woods, who finished in a tie for fourth after a thrilling surge on the front nine at Augusta.

Laird could not match the fireworks of his playing partner but hopes to benefit from the experience.

"The atmosphere was incredible," he added.

"It was fantastic, especially playing with Tiger as he charged up the leaderboard - it doesn't get much better."

After this week's efforts in the Georgia sunshine, Laird, who has won twice on the US PGA Tour, has dropped two places in the world rankings to 23.
