Nicolas Colsaerts moved in to a one-shot lead after the second round of the BMW Masters in Shanghai.

The Belgian, 31, fired nine birdies during his eight-under score of 64 to move to 14-under-par - a shot ahead of first-round leader Alexander Levy.

Frenchman Levy, 24, followed up his seven birdies on the opening day with a further six in his second round of 66.

European Ryder Cup team-mates Thomas Bjorn and Graeme McDowell are four and five strokes further back respectively.

Romain Wattel consolidated a strong opening round to maintain third place on the leaderboard at 11 under par with Marcel Siem, Branden Grace and Emiliano Grillo all tied at 10 under.

Colsaerts, a member of Europe's winning team in Medinah in 2012, missed out on selection at Gleneagles last month and worked as a summariser for BBC Radio 5 Live.

He won the Volvo China Open in April and shot rounds of 63 and 61 in the rain-affected Portugal Masters earlier this month.

"I felt like I've been in the zone a couple of times lately and it doesn't really happen in such a short period of time like this," he said.

"So it's pretty nice when you can get it going like this and I've been playing quite well for the last couple of months."
