Rory McIlroy says US Ryder Cup taskforce is 'overdoing it'

The United States Ryder Cup team are "overdoing it" by appointing an 11-man taskforce in an attempt to end their losing streak, says Rory McIlroy.
The Northern Irish world number one said it is "not rocket science" why Europe have won eight of the past 10 tournaments, including the past three.
Davis Love III will captain the US for the 2016 event in Hazeltine, Minnesota.
Changes to the qualification and wildcard systems are intended to assist him in selecting in-form players.
McIlroy, who has won the Ryder Cup three times, believes Love and Europe captain Darren Clarke will be "formidable opponents".
He added: "I'm surprised, and I feel they're overdoing it, with the setting up of a taskforce and also talking about all the changes they want to bring in."
Next year will be 50-year-old Love's second time as captain after overseeing the US team's final-day collapse in the 2012 'Miracle of Medinah'.

Four-time major winner McIlroy, 25, said: "Davis is going to be a great captain and it was a freak we won at Medinah - it was not supposed to happen given they had a 10-6 lead.
"I get the sense the States, what with their taskforce and everything that came out in the announcement, are desperate to win back the Ryder Cup."
Love will have four captain's picks for next year's tournament, with the deadline for his final wildcard selection extended to the Sunday before the tournament starts.
The top eight in the qualifying standings will be set following the first event of next season's FedExCup play-offs on 28 August 2016, giving players two additional weeks to earn points.
The new rules will also mean two of the vice-captains will be former skippers, and the other two will be players with Ryder Cup experience.
Love has already selected 2006 captain Tom Lehman to assist him.
The taskforce included PGA executives, former captains and players including Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
It was formed following Mickelson's criticism of captain Tom Watson immediately after Europe beat the US 16½-11½ at Gleneagles last September.
Love - along with Woods and Mickelson - will also be a permanent member on a six-man US Ryder Cup committee.
The 2016 Ryder Cup will take place from 30 September to 2 October.
