Northern Ireland Open: Rain delays start at Galgorm

Heavy rain has caused as delay to the start of the first round at Galgorm Castle

Play in the first round of the Northern Ireland Open will begin at 13:30 BST after a delay because of a waterlogging at Galgorm Castle.

Heavy rain at the Ballymena venue led to Challenge Tour organisers announcing a six-hour delay in play getting under way on Thursday.

The field includes tournament ambassador Michael Hoey and 13-year-old golfing prodigy Tom McKibben.

The teenager received an invite to play in the County Antrim event.
