Robert MacIntyre has a share of third at the Open Championship after the 22-year-old ended his first round at a major with a three-under-par 68 at Royal Portrush.
The Scot was level with Irishman Shane Lowry until bogeying the 18th hole.
MacIntyre is two shots behind leader JB Holmes of America.
Russell Knox is the next best placed Scot after carding 70, while Connor Syme posted 72, Sam Locke struggled to a 75, as did 1999 winner Paul Lawrie.
MacIntyre, who turned professional two years ago, picked up an eagle and five birdies in his opening round to match 12 other players, including current US PGA champion Brooks Koepka and 2017 Masters winner Sergio Garcia.
He warmed up for his Open debut by playing with Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler at last week's Scottish Open.
"I was nervous, but not as nervous as last week," MacIntyre told BBC Scotland.
"Once I eagled the fifth, I turned to my caddy and said, 'look at that, we're on top of the leaderboard, we're on our own'. These are experiences that I'm enjoying and I've just got to keep going.
"It was just keeping it simple, staying patient and enjoying it. I've done my job, so I'll go back and relax with the family now. I've got a wee bit of practice to do, then I'm sure I'll be playing the PlayStation before I go to bed."
