Top jockey Ruby Walsh is out of the Cheltenham Festival after suffering a suspected stress fracture to his leg.
The Festival's all-time leading rider, who only returned from breaking his right leg six days ago, hurt the same leg when Al Boum Photo fell in the RSA Chase on Wednesday.
Walsh, 38, came back from nearly four months out on Thursday and had two winners at Cheltenham on Tuesday.
Patrick Mullins replaced Walsh on Douvan, who fell in the Champion Chase.
The jockey was injured when his mount came down at the second last fence of the RSA Chase, won by Presenting Percy. Al Boum Photo did not appear to be badly hurt.
Walsh's double on Tuesday took him to 58 career Cheltenham Festival victories. He has been the leading jockey at the showpiece meeting 11 times.
Walsh told Racing UK: "My right leg is in a cast and the fall opened the fracture at the back. I won't know the full extent until Tuesday [when he sees a specialist in Dublin]."
Trainer Willie Mullins said: "The information I have is that he has a stress fracture on the old break. He might need a cast for maybe three weeks or a month and then he could be back.
"It's hugely disappointing for Ruby and everyone. That's sport. We have to pick up and move on."
Katie Walsh, sister of Ruby, won the final race of the day on Relegate and afterwards she told BBC Radio 5 live sports extra: "My heart goes out to Ruby, but that's racing.
"What's his bad fortune has turned out to be a marvellous day for me, but all I can think of is him (Ruby) to be honest.
"He's up and he's talking, we are not waiting to hear if he's woken up yet and that's the main thing."
