Amateur jockey Alice Procter is out of intensive care after successful surgery on a fractured spine, says the Injured Jockeys' Fund (IJF).
The 21-year-old sustained the injury in the thoracic region of her spinal cord after a heavy fall at Cartmel earlier this month.
The IJF said on Tuesday that Procter's injury continued to affect the "lower half of her body".
"This will require further careful evaluation to guide future treatment and rehabilitation," it added.
"Alice is extremely grateful for the skill and care of the hospital medical team and for the messages of support from her friends and colleagues across the industry.”
Procter was flown by air ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital after coming down on Uggy Uggy Uggy in a female riders' handicap hurdle at the track.
