Royale Pagaille wins thrilling Betfair Chase at Haydock

Royale Pagaille beat Grey Dawning in a thrilling finish to win a second successive Betfair Chase at Haydock Park.
Under jockey Charlie Deutsch, Royale Pagaille was in front for most of the race before Grey Dawning, ridden by Harry Skelton, moved into the lead after the penultimate fence.
However, Grey Dawning had a poor jump at the final fence and Royale Pagaille, trained by Venetia Williams, capitalised by fighting back to follow up last year's victory in the race.
"For him to do it twice really sets it in stone - just incredible," Deutsch told ITV Racing.
"When Harry [Skelton] came to us I thought we were beat but I dug in to see how much we had left. He really tries hard.
"He really had to dig deep. I think it was just genuine character that got him the race."
Royale Pagaille joins Kauto Star, Bristol De Mai, Cue Card and Silviniaco Conti in becoming a multiple winner of the Betfair Chase.
