Kevin Saurette scores a hat-trick as the Belfast Giants beat the Dundee Stars at the Odyssey Arena.

Kevin Saurette's hat-trick helped Belfast Giants to a 5-3 victory over Elite League leaders Dundee Stars at the Odyssey Arena on Friday night.

Adam Keefe put the Giants ahead and Billy Bagron levelled before Saurette netted twice in the second period.

Keefe made it 4-1 early in the third period but Dundee hit back with two goals from Jerry Pollastrone.

Saurette completed his treble with six minutes left to seal a win which takes the Giants two points off the top.

Belfast won their opening two league games but were then hammered 5-0 by Coventry Blaze last weekend.

It is a first defeat in the campaign for Dundee, who arrived in Belfast with a perfect record of four victories from four matches.

The Giants are back in action at the Odyssey on Saturday night with a Challenge Cup clash against Braehead Clan.
