Elite League leaders are well clear at the top of the table after a 4-3 home win over title rivals the Nottingham Panthers.

The Belfast Giants extended their lead at the top of the Elite League to 13 points with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Nottingham Panthers at the Odyssey.

Goals from Craig Peacock and Cody Brookwell put the Giants in front but Matt Ryan and David Clarke replied to level by the end of the first period.

Peacock scored on the powerplay to make it 3-2 after the second period.

Petr Kalus scored on the powerplay to equalise but Kevin Saurette found the net soon after to secure victory.

The win completes a successful holiday period for the Giants, with Paul Adey's side also having also defeated Dundee Stars and Hull Stingrays, as well as enjoying a double success over Braehead Clan.
