Nottingham Panthers head coach Corey Neilson believes his side can do better, despite seeing them go top of the Elite League table.

Panthers followed a 4-0 home shutout of Coventry on Saturday, with a 4-1 victory at Sheffield on Sunday.

Neilson told the club website:, external "Even though we were poor on Sunday, when we got some good chances we finished.

"Even when you are playing bad, good teams find a way to win and that's what we're doing right now."

Panthers have a double-header this weekend with back-to-back matches at Edinburgh Capitals on Friday and Saturday.

The Capitals are currently fourth in the table and have won their last seven home matches.

"They are another dangerous team," said Neilson. "It is one of those games where you have to be mentally strong and mentally sharp.

"They have some guys who can really do damage if you give them chances, so we have to close them down fast and be hard on them."
