Belfast Giants moved up to third in the Elite League table as two Kris Beech goals helped them earn a 5-2 away win over Braehead Clan on Saturday night.

With Cardiff losing against Coventry, the Giants are now five points behind both the Devils and Sheffield but have one game in hand on both sides.

Matt Keith put Braehead ahead before Beech and James Desmarais replied before the end of the first period.

Beech put Belfast 3-1 up with Mike Forney and Mitch Ganzak also on target.

After Beech's second goal, a Stefan Meyer strike reduced Belfast's lead before Forney's goal in the final period was followed by Ganzak's last-gasp goal.

Saturday's win followed Friday's 5-1 away win in Nottingham.

Three of Belfast's remaining seven games will be against Cardiff.
