Belfast Giants won their 1,000th match by securing a 5-3 away victory over Dundee Stars in the Challenge Cup.

The visitors led 2-0 at the end of the first period thanks to goals from Derrick Walser and David Rutherford.

Felix Antoine Poulin pulled one back but Chris Higgins restored the two-goal advantage before Cale Tanaka and Vinny Scarsella netted for Dundee.

Blair Riley struck twice in the final 77 seconds as the Giants made it two wins from their two weekend games.

Saturday's success also came in the Challenge Cup with a 3-1 victory over Edinburgh Capitals at the SSE Arena.

Michael Forney scored twice with Steve Saviano also on target for the Giants.
