Cardiff Devils suffered a fourth consecutive home defeat in Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) as Manchester Storm came from behind to win 5-3 at the Vindico Arena.

Devils have now lost five of six league games since winning their first European trophy last month, to fall 13 points behind leaders Belfast Giants.

It was a third win on the bounce for Storm who are second from bottom in EIHL.

Cardiff - who beat Sheffield Steelers 4-1 at home three days earlier to reach the Challenge Cup final - scored first in a frentic five-goal first period.

Joey Martin found the net twice for Devils along with Ryan Barrow, while Storm kept in touch with a Ryan Hughes effort and a Cameron Critchlow powerplay goal.

Alexis D'Aoust levelled the scores to 3-3 in the second period and it was Storm who emerged winners with Noah Carroll on target before Tyler Hinam found an empty net in the final minute.

Devils head to Fife Flyers for a game on Sunday five points behind second placed Sheffield and four behind third place Nottingham Panthers, and with a double header in Belfast looming next weekend.
