Elite League leaders Cardiff Devils impressed in a dominant performance against Guildford Flames at the Vindico Arena on Tuesday.

Kohen Olischefski put the home side ahead, assisted by Reid Duke and Josh Batch, but Matt Alvaro had Flames level before the first intermission.

Devils hit the gas in the second period, leaping into a 4-1 lead as Cole Sanford, Brett Perlini and Joey Martin found the net - helped by Flames' Brett Ferguson twice earning two-minute penalties.

A bad-tempered third period was dominated by penalties for both sides rather than goals but Josh MacDonald did stretch Devils' winning margin late on.

The two sides meet again on New Year's Day in a return match at the Guildford Spectrum.
