Summary

  • Belfast Giants v Sheffield Steelers (19:00)

  1. Steelers deny Giants top spotpublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January

    Belfast Giants 3-5 Sheffield Steelers

If anyone thought the recent poor run of form was the end of the Steelers title challenge then the past 10 days have put that to rest.

Four wins in a row and this is the biggest of them all. Coming from 0-2 down to win 5-3 gives them their third win in four games over the Giants this season.

And a perfect night for Sheffield completed by the win by Dundee over Cardiff.

Much to ponder for Giants coach Adam Keefe. At the halfway point they were in charge of this game before letting it slip away.

Not a critical loss but both Cardiff and Belfast will be looking over their shoulders at the Steelers who are beginning to find their best form again.
