Young Devils can benefit after absence of GB players
Cardiff Devils assistant coach Matthew Myers says his side's young two-way players can benefit from the loss of leading stars who were with Great Britain for the final Olympic qualifiers in Denmark.
The Welsh side's pre-season was disrupted after losing their head coach Pete Russell while they were left with a depleted roster to face Elite League champions Sheffield Steelers in a double-header.
But Myers feels the absence of players including Ben Bowns, Josh Batch, Evan Mosey, Mark Richardson, Ben Davies, Sam Duggan and Brett Perlini benefited other members within the squad.
Devils begin their 2024-25 Elite league campaign against Glasgow Clan at Vindico Arena on Saturday night (19:00 BST).
