More views on Chelsea's Diego Costa and whether he should be banned for allegedly stamping on opponents against Liverpool.

Toby Jenkins: Every week we see thrown elbows, two-footed challenges and even some slaps which go completely unpunished by the FA and no one bats an eyelid. But as soon as Costa steps on a player's ankle, it's the worst thing since Cantona's kung-fu kick.

Andy Reynolds: I reckon the first one on Can was intentional, they had a bit of a spat in the first leg. But I think the Skrtel one was accidental. As a Liverpool fan I am gutted to go out of the Cup but feel they were two very good games and showed our definite improvement.

Dave Simpson: Seen them both and as a none Chelsea fan, I must say one is definitely NOT a stamp and the other is 50/50 - he may or may not have been able to hurdle the player. Only he will know that and you can't ban him on that evidence.

And yet another pun to finish...

Jeff Burridge: Costa, taking 'Stampford' Bridge one step too far.

You guys are on fire today...

Steve Howes: Don't focus on Costa look at the ref. Costa, Skirtel and Henderson should all have gone and as for the pen not awarded ... I despair.

Matt Ryan: (LFC fan) Stamp on Can was intentional, stamp in Skrtel was lucky. They should have had a penalty, so let's call it evens 1-1.

Paul Pharoah: Can someone explain the contrast between Giroud headbutting and being sent off and Costa/Skrtel not even being yellow carded?

And another punter vying for best line of the day award...

  77. Get involved - Costa controversy

Plenty of views coming in on Chelsea's Diego Costa and whether he should be banned for allegedly stamping on opponents against Liverpool.

Gary Watson: Jose was right. There was no intent, they were not stamps at all. The Liverpool players were trying to get Costa sent off all night, both these incidents were classic examples of players putting a leg in the way of a tackle so as to get Costa booked.

Lynkoln Desage: Liverpool are trying to conceal a probably more blatant and serious offence when Skrtel cynically and inexplicably elbowed Costa in the face at Anfield in the first leg. Costa is a brute of a striker and relishes such duels so give him a break.

Jason Jay: If it was Suarez everyone would be calling him all sort of names. Costa deserves a four-match ban without question.
