With Manchester City's league title defence in tatters and the club set to end the season without a trophy, we're asking whether their manager Manuel Pellegrini should stay or go?

Let us know via Twitter using #bbcsportsday and via the BBC Sport Facebook page. Here are some of your replies...

Matt Black: They need to get rid of their technical director, he is the one who has been in charge of recruitment and has failed to build on the squad, expensive signings which haven't worked out and no good young talent coming through means he should bear the brunt of it

Billy Crole: Pellegrini isn't at fault. The money grabbing sulking players like Toure etc are at fault. Their attitude and commitment is shocking.

Damian Prendergast: One bad half of a campaign and it's time to get rid nowadays, it's ridiculous. Everyone dips in form now and again, City are still a dangerous side and everyone knows it

Manchester City's loss at Manchester United consigned them to five away defeats on the trot as they have gone out of the Champions League to Barcelona and seen their Premier League title defence fall away.

BBC Sport pundit Trevor Sinclair: "Pellegrini looks worried to me. The results haven't been good enough for Manchester City - the size of the club now, they expect to be challenging every year and to fall away as they have done this season is very poor.

"The tactics haven't been great but the players have got to take responsibility as well. They've not performed."

Sammy pine: He's got to go. his tactics against the big teams havent worked, his purchases have been woeful, team lacks flare and spirit.

Peterwari Soberekon: About six months ago, I was driving on the 'VAN GAAL OUT' bandwagon... But look at what he's turned an ordinary club to now?

Alex McMahon: He should go. Considering the talent/money that MCFC have, this is a 'Moyes-esque' title defence.

More fallout from the derby. Manchester City were left fourth in the Premier League after their defeat by arch rivals Manchester United and are five points ahead of fifth-placed Southampton and seven in front of Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

BBC Sport pundit Phil Neville: "The pressure is mounting massively [on Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini] because the results are going in the wrong direction.

"His team have lost momentum, they are now looking over their shoulder maybe at Liverpool, who play against Newcastle. If they win that they are thinking can they catch Man City.

"So going from a strength of can we win the league to now thinking can we finish in the top four, I don't think that's good enough for a club like Man City. With players they've got. The players aren't performing but I think the manager sometimes, particularly with his tactics, are letting his team down."

    Andrew Benson
    BBC Sport chief F1 writer

"The disagreement between the Mercedes drivers comes two weeks after Rosberg felt moved to deny in Malaysia that he had deliberately blocked his team-mate on a qualifying lap.

"Then, the team made it clear they felt Rosberg had done nothing wrong; in China, team boss Toto Wolff acknowledged the alleged backing-up incident would need to be discussed internally.

"It is the latest in a series of flash points in the staccato feud between Hamilton and Rosberg that has bubbled away pretty much since they became team-mates at the start of 2013, and which exploded properly at various points of their title duel last year."

It's kicked off again. Lewis Hamilton claimed victory in Sunday's China Grand Grand Prix but his second-placed team-mate Nico Rosberg was not happy in the manner the Briton achieved his victory.

The German felt race Hamilton was driving unnecessarily slowly, backing him up into the chasing Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel.

Rosberg said it was "frustrating" and put them under "unnecessary pressure".

Hamilton responded to the accusation he had done it on purpose by saying: "That's absolutely not the case."

Some more reaction from the Masters. World number one Rory McIlroy believes a disappointing opening 27 holes at Augusta prevented him from contending for a first Masters victory.

The Northern Ireland player, who finished fourth after an impressive final-round 66, would have completed a career Grand Slam with a win in the season's first major.

McIlroy praised Jordan Spieth, who equalled the lowest score in Masters history to secure his first major.
