Five-time champion Ronnie O'Sullivan caused a stink in yesterday's opening session when he whipped off his shoes. He explains why had to play in just his socks:
"I've no fashion sense at all. I had the last ones for 10 years and didn't want to get rid of them. But I left them in a hotel room and lost them," Ronnie tells BBC Two.
"Then I just bought the wrong pair and they were bashing my feet up. I had to take them off. I couldn't wear them. They said I couldn't play in my socks - I didn't want to play in my socks. But didn't want to play in those shoes either!
"So I got a pair of [tournament director] Mike Ganley's old shoes - they felt great."
Victorious Ronnie O'Sullivan talking to BBC Two after his 10-3 win against Craig Steadman: "I'm never thinking about just getting over the line. If you start thinking like that then you won't win tournaments. With each match, each ball, you become stronger or weaker. For me it is about building momentum."
On facing either Mark Williams or Matthew Stevens in the second-round: "It's too early to say which one I'll be playing - it is not like Matthew has played out of his skin. Mark will come out fighting and draw on his experiences. The Welsh never give in!"
All over! Ronnie O'Sullivan strolls into the World Championship second round with a 10-3 victory against qualifier Craig Steadman.
The five-time champion was not at his fluent best in today's session and will be disappointed not to have compiled a ton since yesterday's opening frame.
Nevertheless, it has been a decent workout for the 39-year-old tournament favourite. Next up for him is a Welshman. But will it be Mark Williams or Matthew Stevens on Saturday evening? Probably Stevens as he leads 7-2 ahead of the resumption of their match at 14:30 BST.
