    Nick Hope
BBC Olympic sports reporter at the London Aquatics Centre

"A solid rather than spectacular set of dives from Britain's Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow helped them secure the 10m synchro bronze.

"China's Ruolin Chen and Huixia Liu are simply unstoppable, though. They now have four titles in a row and are the overwhelming favourites for World Championship gold this summer.

"British pair Matthew Lee and James Denny are up next in the men's 10m synchro event."

Today's opening stage of the Tour de Yorkshire is already under way and a reminder you can follow the action with live text coverage by clicking here.

Earlier this morning Team Sky boss Sir Dave Brailsford told BBC Radio 5 live it would be "strange" to see Sir Bradley Wiggins, who won the Tour de France under Brailsford in 2012, lining up for his new team Team Wiggins at the event.

Brailsford also said Ben Swift (pictured above) is Team Sky's best bet for a stage win. "He's a real Yorkshire lad. It's going to be questionable weather and he thinks it will suit him."

Two of the favourites for Sunday's 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, Found and Together Forever, are both non-runners in the fillies-only Classic. Their trainer Aidan O'Brien has not declared either, so is only represented in the 13-strong field by Qualify, the mount of his jockey-son Joseph.

  6. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

It's official - there are no big celebration plans in Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's diary.

Asked what he'll be doing on Sunday if Chelsea wrap up the Premier League title the Portuguese says: "I will go home. As you can imagine we have nothing prepared. So normally I finish the game and I go home."

He's not been in a great mood this afternoon, Jose. Especially for a manager set to pick up his umpteenth major title.

  7. Bronze for Couch and Barrowpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

British divers Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow have won World Series bronze in the 10m synchro event at the London Aquatic Centre.

The Plymouth pair came third in the same event in the last series meeting in Russia.

  8. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

More from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "We have been top of the league since the beginning of the season. That is something very difficult to do."

A bit of team news and Loic Remy is fit but Diego Costa is out, although he hasn't suffered an injury setback. "It isn't worth the risk," Jose says. "There is a chance he might not" play before the end of the season, he adds.

  10. Chelsea news conferencepublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

"We are calm," adds Mourinho. "We need two or three points to be champions. Let's say three to make sure you don't depend on goal difference.

"Obviously we want to finish as soon as possible. If we can finish it at home, on Sunday, even better. That's what we have in our minds."

  11. Jose Mourinho news conferencepublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

  13. Ireland's D'Arcy to retirepublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

Ireland and Leinster centre Gordon D'Arcy will retire from professional rugby after the World Cup in October.

The 35-year-old has won 81 caps for Ireland and he formed a formidable centre pairing with Brian O'Driscoll. D'Arcy has also helped Leinster to three Heineken Cup triumphs and four Celtic League/Pro12 titles.

"My decision has always been that I would leave at this time - after the Rugby World Cup 2015," he said.

  14. Murphy v Hawkinspublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

Barry Hawkins looks like he needs his mammy as Shaun Murphy's relentless potting shows no sign of abating. The former world champion ends the session 13-3 ahead and needing just four more frames this evening to move into the final.

He might be in fine form, but that doesn't excuse those spats, though...

We love a good anniversary here at Sportsday, and this here's a nice one.

Ten years ago today Barcelona forward Lionel Messi scored his first senior goal. Naturally it wasn't bad either, with the Argentine lobbing Albacete's goalkeeper after a chipped through ball from Ronaldinho.

The 27-year-old has since added a healthy 402 strikes to his tally. That's 40.3 goals a year. A nice round figure.

Spanish top flight club Granada sack their manager Abel Resino with just four games of the season remaining.

Resino won just two of 16 games since taking over at Granada for a second time in January, a run leaves the club second-bottom in the table and six points from safety.

Granada are still to face Getafe, Cordoba, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid as they bid to preserve their La Liga status.

  19. Diving World Seriespublished at 11:54 British Summer Time 1 May 2015

    Nick Hope
BBC Olympic sports reporter at the London Aquatics Centre

"The London Aquatics Centre holds mixed memories for Tom Daley - he won Olympic bronze here, but it's also where he developed the fear over what became his 'demon dive'.

"Daley was forced to re-take the piked 2.5 somersault, 2.5 twist routine after being distracted by camera lights.

"With that in mind, the crowd have just been played a 'friendly' reminder from Tom.

"'Please do not use flash photography, or I'll hunt you down and chuck you off the 10m,' he says with a smile."
