    Former Wigan and Brentford manager Uwe Rosler has had discussions about the head coach's job at Leeds United.

    Neil Redfearn is the current boss at Elland Road but the expectation is his contract to carry on as the head coach will not be renewed when it expires on 30 June.

    Rosler, 46, has been out of work since being sacked by Wigan on 13 November. He had previously taken the Latics to the Championship play-offs and an FA Cup semi-final.

    Former Leyton Orient defender Matt Lockwood has urged O's owner Francesco Becchetti to appoint a manager who has experience in England.

    Orient sacked Italian boss Fabio Liverani last week, following their relegation from League One.

    "I'd love for the owner to stick with a British-based manager," Lockwood, 38, told BBC London 94.9.

    "Orient could be a great club but the owners need to employ people who know England and the lower leagues."

    Captain Sean Dillon has signed a two-year contract extension to tie him to Dundee United until May 2017.

    The Irish defender moved to Tannadice from Shelbourne in January 2007 and has made close to 300 appearances.

    "This club is a massive part of my life and the Dundee area is my family home," said the 31-year-old Dubliner.

    Golf world number one Rory McIlroy says he wants to be "the best player of my generation".

    The Northern Irishman, 26, won his third tournament of the year on Sunday, recording a seven-stroke victory at the Wells Fargo Classic on the PGA Tour.

    In an ominous warning to his rivals, McIlroy pledged to get even better.

    He tells BBC sports editor Dan Roan: "I think I'm pretty close to playing my best golf. I'm definitely able to feel more equipped to win now."

    Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish has described advance ticket sales for goalkeeper Julian Speroni's testimonial as "disappointing".

    Speroni marks over a decade's service to Palace when Dundee - the Argentine's former club - visit Selhurst Park on 26 May.

    "It is a fantastic achievement by Jules and I'm a little bit disappointed with the ticket sales for his testimonial," Parish tells the South London Press., external

    "It's going to be a great night - I don't think it would kill a few people to get off their backside and show their support." Tickets are £20 for adults and £5 for over-65s and U16s.
