    Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul is having a medical at Sunderland, according to reports.

    The 29-year-old Kaboul would become head coach Dick Advocaat's fourth summer signing if he completes a move.

    The Black Cats have signed defenders Sebastian Coates and Adam Matthews as well as midfielder Jeremain Lens so far this summer.

    Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has been speaking at a news conference during his side's tour in Australia. 

    The Reds boss denied he and Raheem Sterling, who has moved to Manchester city in a £49m deal, had fallen out.

    "We were on text yesterday, so our communication is fine," said the Reds boss.

    "He decided to move on and, for now, he's a Manchester City player and for us now it's about focusing on the players we have."

    Wigan have rejected a bid from Rangers for full-back James Tavernier, according to Press Association Sport. 

    The Scottish club have already signed centre-back Rob Kiernan from the Latics this summer but their initial offer to buy Tavernier has been rejected. 

    The 23-year-old has two years left on his current deal but only made 13 appearances for Wigan last season before going on loan to Bristol City, who were promoted from League One.
