Adebayor 'reluctant to leave London'
Football
Mark Regan
BBC WM Sport
Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor's move to Aston Villa is on the brink of collapse as the player is understood to be reluctant to move out of the capital.
The Togo striker has been in talks with Villa for weeks and look set to be reunited with Tim Sherwood, who was his boss at Spurs. But now the deal, while not totally dead in the water, is pretty close to it.
Villa fans will be philosophical as they have had a far busier summer than many would have thought and there are lots of players to get excited about. Furthermore, Sherwood has attacking options now with Rudy Gestede, Libor Kozak, Jordan Ayew and Gabby Agbonlahor.
Why has it taken Adebayor so long to realise Birmingham is a bit of a distance from London? Has it moved?

Balotelli & Borini no closer to exit
Football
Ben Smith
BBC Sport
Liverpool have added some significant firepower over the summer but have struggled to offload players. Italian strikers Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli remain at Anfield, despite Brendan Rodgers being keen to sell both.
With regards Borini, Fiorentina have expressed an interest and talks have taken place but he remains on Merseyside and is training at Liverpool's Melwood complex on Thursday. And I am told Liverpool have had absolutely no firm interest in Balotelli at this stage.
But the likelihood is that both will leave the club before September's transfer deadline.
And what of incomings? Liverpool's summer spending is likely to be over but a loan deal or two may yet be possible.
