"It's always like that, it was the same at the weekend [against Motherwell under new manager Mark McGhee]. When you get a new manager in you get more energy and belief," he said.
"He's coming back and the same principles are here as when he left. The club is in a good condition and I don't think he'll revolutionise it or do anything very different. 90 per cent of the players played under him last time."

Ian Poulter made a last-minute journey from Florida to Hong Kong in an attempt to save his European Tour card - and perhaps his 2016 Ryder Cup chances.
Poulter, 39, dropped out of the world's top 50 on Sunday, meaning he would be unable to complete the 13 events required for European Tour membership.
But former US PGA champion Rich Beem gave up his place in the Hong Kong Open to allow Poulter to compete.

Yaya Toure believes Manchester City are at last ready to make a major impact in the Champions League.
City have so far failed to advance beyond the last 16, but ahead of Wednesday's game with Sevilla, Toure told BT Sport that the squad's attitude cannot be faulted this season.
"I'll be honest it's one of the few times that I have seen the players all commit and focus because they all want something and they all work for something," he said.
More developments on the story that the ice hockey match between Sheffield Steelers and Belfast Giants has been postponed because of a rescheduled One Direction concert at the SSE Arena.
The arena's promoters made the decision after Tuesday night's gig by the band was called off when singer Liam Payne fell ill. They will now play on Friday.
But Giants head of operations Steve Thornton is being a gentleman and says he understands the reasons for the change.
If versatility is a crucial part of Louis van Gaal's infamous football philosophy, he's got a new muse.
The Manchester United boss reckons Anthony Martial can slot into four different positions on any given occasion, upfront, both wings and as a number 10.
Things are a bit tougher for Jesse Lingard, however. Van Gaal told MUTV: "Lingard's competitor is Juan Mata and his competitor is also, for example, Ander Herrera or Wayne Rooney or, when he is played on the left... his competitor was Memphis [Depay]. So it's not easy to come in."

Fans fed up with Villa 'panto'

The Aston Villa Supporters' Trust has directed strong words at the club following their "dreadful start to the season" and called for the alleged "infighting" to stop.

The statement read: "For two weeks now there have been stories leaking out of Villa Park, seemingly from both the manager and the club, and the AVST demand that this is brought to an end. Pantomime season does not start for another two months."

Dynamo Kiev 0-0 Chelsea

Jose Mourinho's side have now won just one out of five in all competitions.
Yet this was a much improved display on the European stage by the reigning Premier League champions following their 2-1 defeat away to Porto on 29 September.
Porto's 2-0 win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv means Chelsea remain third in the group with four points from three games, one behind second-placed Kiev and three adrift of leaders Porto.
Chelsea's next Champions League fixture is against Dynamo Kiev at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, 4 November. Before that they face West Ham United away (24 October) and Liverpool at home (31 October) in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, it wasn't quite as happy for Chelsea, who twice hit the woodwork and were denied a penalty en route to being held to a goalless draw by Dynamo Kiev in Group G of the Champions League.
Eden Hazard almost scored on his return, keeper Oleksandr Shovkovskiy tipping his attempt on to a post.
Chelsea had a strong penalty appeal waved away when Cesc Fabregas went down after a Serhiy Rybalka challenge.
Willian's free-kick hit the underside of the bar before Asmir Begovic denied Derlis Gonzalez in Ukraine.
'It was amazing'
Arsenal 2-0 Bayern
BBC Radio 5 Live
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has been speaking on BBC Radio 5 live about his former club's win.
“"It was amazing considering the pressure they've been under," he said. “The way they played Bayern Munich was really amazing. I haven't seen any team playing them like this, this season."
How can a team that play so poorly against Olympiakos acquit themselves so well against Bayern Munich, accepted as a member of European football's royalty under the guidance of one of the game's great coaches in Pep Guardiola?
Guardiola is used to enjoying possession without victory at Emirates. When Barcelona lost a two-goal lead to draw here in April 2010, Arsenal only had 38% of possession - in the first half here Bayern enjoyed a 74.5% share.
And yet, once more, Arsenal dug in. They were defensively resilient, dogged in midfield and, even though the two goals were scrambled, they may well prove to be priceless.

Arsenal 2-0 Bayern

First to Arsenal, who revived their Champions League hopes in thrilling fashion with a crucial victory over Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners' hopes of reaching the knockout phase were in serious jeopardy after they lost their opening two games away to Dinamo Zagreb and at home to Olympiakos.
But Arsene Wenger's side responded by beating Pep Guardiola's Bayern - clear favourites to win Group F - and make a nonsense of those dismal earlier performances.
Bayern dominated possession but a bundled-in goal from substitute Olivier Giroud and a stoppage time second from Mesut Ozil secured a famous - and much-needed - victory.

Louis' love for versatile Martial
CSKA Moscow v Manchester United (19:45 BST)
If versatility is a crucial part of Louis van Gaal's infamous football philosophy, he's got a new muse.
The Manchester United boss reckons Anthony Martial can slot into four different positions on any given occasion, upfront, both wings and as a number 10.
Things are a bit tougher for Jesse Lingard, however. Van Gaal told MUTV: "Lingard's competitor is Juan Mata and his competitor is also, for example, Ander Herrera or Wayne Rooney or, when he is played on the left... his competitor was Memphis [Depay]. So it's not easy to come in."

"He came into the side back in 2006, and there was something impressive about him then. We’re seeing now he’s one of the best we’ve ever produced."

"As of now, I still do not know the exact basis on which they imposed a six-year ban on me, which I must have in order to appeal the unjust sanctions imposed on me."

He tested positive for cocaine at a PDC Grand Slam qualifier in Wigan.
Albion winners 'special' for Zamora

South Africa team to face All Blacks
South Africa v New Zealand, Sat 24 Oct, 16:00 BST
And here are the replacements for South Africa on Saturday. Just the one main change as Victor Matfield takes over from Pieter-Steph du Toit at lock after overcoming a hamstring injury.
16. Adriaan Strauss, 17. Trevor Nyakane, 18. Jannie du Plessis, 19. Victor Matfield, 20. Willem Alberts, 21. Ruan Pienaar, 22. Pat Lambie, 23. Jan Serfontein.
Head coach Heyneke Meyer says Matfield's experience will be important on Saturday, adding: “Victor’s inclusion on the bench gives us even more experience there and, as we saw last weekend against Wales, when the replacements did very well towards the end of the match, this will be crucial.”
Here's a great stat for you as well - this is the first time since last November that Meyer has been able to name an unchanged team for back-to-back Tests and only the sixth time since his appointment in 2012.

'One mistake'
Football
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho compared the referee in their goalless Champions League draw at Dynamo Kiev to the official in charge of Scotland's Rugby World Cup defeat by Australia.
South African Craig Joubert was heavily criticised after awarding Australia a late penalty in Sunday's quarter-final.
Damir Skomina turned down Chelsea's penalty appeal when Cesc Fabregas fell under Serhiy Rybalka's challenge.
"The decision was crucial for the outcome," said Mourinho. "A fall in the box is a penalty. The referee made one mistake and, for example in the Rugby World Cup, the referee in the Scotland game was very good ... but he made one mistake and because of that mistake Scotland is crying."
Cup run cash helped fill 'black hole'
Hull KR's run to the Challenge Cup final helped fill a financial "black hole", according to chairman Neil Hudgell.
They lost 50-0 to Leeds at Wembley, but money earned from the competition gave them a major boost.
"Our finances are ok in context to how they've been in the last 10 years. It is always a struggle because it's not a cash-rich game and you are always reliant on donations," Hudgell told BBC Radio Humberside.

Fans fed up with Villa 'panto'
Football
The Aston Villa Supporters' Trust has directed strong words at the club following their "dreadful start to the season" and called for the alleged "infighting" to stop.
It said the board should decide whether manager Tim Sherwood is the man to lead the club and publicly back him - or move on and leave a new coach enough time to turn things around. Villa are currently second from bottom in the Premier League and have one win out of the last nine.
The statement read: "For two weeks now there have been stories leaking out of Villa Park, seemingly from both the manager and the club, and the AVST demand that this is brought to an end. Pantomime season does not start for another two months."

United sack Ferguson in 1990
And there's more. BBC Sport marks Back to the Future Day by looking at four possible alternative endings to recent football history..
So we ask what if trophyless Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson had been sacked in 1990? Or if Maradona's "Hand of God" goal at the 1986 World Cup had been chalked off?
How different things might be at Leeds United had Russell Crowe bought his boyhood club, and what if title-chasing Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard hadn't slipped at Anfield in 2014?

Back to the Future ... again
So, if you can cast your mind back to the start of Sportsday - it was a whole 43 minutes ago, so it's tricky we know - and our reference to Back to the Future.
We are, of course, on the date Marty McFly was flung 30 years forward in time to during that epic film (if you haven't seen it then you'll just have to take our word for it - it was epic).
To mark the occasion BBC Sport has put together this rather wonderful feature about what sport might be like in another 30 years time, so - for those without a gold star in Mathermatics - in October 2045.
It includes a look at what the 100m record might be and how, at an Arsenal news conference, "a brain in a jar marked 'Piers Morgan' bubbles and froths in apparent fury".
Confused? Read it and all will become clear...

Manchester City v Sevilla (19:45 BST)
And there's more...
Football
There's no let up in the action.
These lot take the field later, with big games in particular for the two Manchester clubs.
Crowded scene
Dynamo Kiev 0-0 Chelsea
You can't fault the home support in Kiev...
Much improved
Frustration
Dynamo Kiev 0-0 Chelsea
It's a mystery
Arsenal 2-0 Bayern
Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer
Passing for fun
Arsenal 2-0 Bayern
Impressive Gunners
Arsenal 2-0 Bayern
Back in the game
